I’m assuming that would give Mavs the tie breaker if they end tied with either LA or NO - is that right?

that stuff only matters for playoff seedings. Lottery position is a coin flip.

Its too close for comfort. They are tied for 11/12 with OKC right now. That's ideal. If they end up 10 we have to pray some team behind them gets lucky, moves up and bumps them to 11.

This drama with the pick is like bonus action

Kyrie brings more drama than Kevin Costner

Except for Waterworld, Costner really brought it then

Dances with Wolves is an all time favorite... and I can think of no better movie to watch on a Sunday afternoon with a severe hangover

"The Postman" was my favorite Costner film.

I got the early years, 3 way tie: Untouchables, No Way Out, Bull Durham. Prob cause that was high school for me

Damn, you named some good ones. Id put Untouchables first, now that you reminded me. Have that and Dances with Wolves on bluray. But no Postman, go figure. Also will add "Tin Cup".

Didnt like the ending of "No way out" Wont give it away. Saw it in the theater in NY, I remember everyone groaning lol.

yeah, get that. But still soooo good. You know the writers hit it right if they getting that type/level of reaction

It is foretold: doesn't matter where the Dallas pick will land, Knicks gonna trade down to 25 and use the the trade-down maneuver to pick up the #36 pick.

Rinse and repeat

I like Open Range with Robert Duval and chemistry between Costner & Annette Bening.

Good western gunfight in this one.

Love Tin Cup and Bul Durham... but an unpopular favorite of mine was Revenge.

Didn’t though. 76ers won

I uttered that prior to the final of the game. I was seeking to bring the victory into reality. If Chicago and Utah lose and lose as much as Dallas we will get the pick. If we don't the pick will coney in the future if the team doesn't draft they will sign a vet like Burkes for a season or a back up power forward for a season. Not a big deal but would love to get a lottery pick while making the playoffs. That would be awesome

Enjoyed that one as well. Costner had his breakout role in a western "Silverado". They were hoping it would bring back the western in the 80s, no such luck. But it was fun.

Dont know if you're into old westerns. This is a great collection of Randolph Scott westerns. Most directed by Bud Boetticher. He was one of those directors who really elevated the genre. And Scott is awesome. This collection used to cost several hundred bucks under another title in the used DVD market.

With Adebayo out this is a must win. A win would allow the Knicks to clinch playoffs and get better odds at a pick.

Gave up 76 points in a half. Smh.

Why don't they put in the defensive neophyte ?
Oh wait, he is hurt again.

Tin Cup is a great hungover on Sunday evening movie

Why has no one mentioned Field of Dreams? Are we all drunk?

Also, I know this is well past his peak, but I really, really enjoyed For the Love of the Game

I'm seeing a lot of articles now that are pointing to Dallas's path to contention being to get in the lottery and luck into a top 4 pick. When serious NBA writers are being forced into fan fiction, you know the team is cooked.

CBS has a good article about Irving's inability to improve his team, despite playing well in Dallas. You really have to wonder what the future holds. I'm guessing a sign and trade to the Lakers makes sense, though I don't see how getting DLo to the Mavs really changes much.

Without draft capital and two of the worst contracts in the league (Bertans and McGee with 22 million in player options for 2024/25) it seems like the best plan is to unleash their own free agents and just try to pick up cheap defense first FAs instead.

Jimbo5 @ 4/2/2023 3:40 AM
The mavs have skewed themselves up big time. They are so intent on getting a second superstar scorer to pair up with Luka but i think a better fit next to luka should be more of a two-way superstar player like a Jimmy butler or maybe Murray of the hawks. Someone who can be happy to do whats needed defensively and can be counted on to score if needed. The mas have been gifted by drafting Luka but somehow mishandled how best to surround him.

Letting Jalen walk was a huge mistake, panicking and trading for Kyrie and giving away their defensive identity. May e the only good thing they are doing is losing, atleast they can keep their draft pick.
