He is not complete, still just 22, no problem guy, works hard, and wants to be here.
Sometimes emphasis is on what he is not. Love the mean face. Kid is Getting his nasty.

I appreciate the hard work, determination, and lack of drama from RJ.

I believe the slow starts over the course of his career are holding him back from bigger things. Its like he's relearning the game, instead of building on the previous season.

If Barrett can figure out how to be a consistent, impact player from the start of the season, to the playoffs. Im confident that RJ will be in the running for all-star every year.

His inconsistency is also in part that he builds on previous skills. Young players are inconsistent and despite his tenure, many fans don’t know this is how you develop yoot. It’s often in stages. He is not jah, or luka. Not instant star.

Is this the beginning of "Rowsanity"?

C'mon Nalod, we've seen this movie before. he plays above average Basketball for a few weeks followed by 2 months of mediocrity.

not trying to sh1t on the kid but, at this point, he needs to show he can play at this current level for a full season and not for just one week, every other month.

Did I not say he was “Inconsistant”? Did I not point out that young players are?
No insanity. Do fans tend to lean way too much one way or the other? He hung 46 on Miami last year.
I can guess as can any fan as to why the slow start.
New alpha in JB. Less touches, differnet role for Jules not being point forward, etc etc.
Maybe its many little things, including pace that the team had to dabble with until it was more tuned to the coaches liking.
YOung players work on things and it takes time to be instinct. Im so happy Deuce, IQ and RJ are succeeding at getting better. Im enjoying the yoot movement. Enjoy the journey. We begged for development of young players. This thread was not to hype or “Told you so”. The journey is to appreciate when young players make strides when it happens. Not to predict things. RJ is a full three years younger than OG. Maybe our guy has a higher ceiling?

Isn’t this just re-litigating the 21 page RJ thread a few posts down?

No. Its what you make of it. Some are not bought into the kid. Some see him as a work in progress and not a final piece.

You make it as if none of us ever are redundant or burn our time on the same thing?

KnickDanger @ 12/27/2022 6:43 PM
22 years old. Does that mean anything?
