You know, many used to talk about trading Ewing too before his decline.
Its more likey in hindsight to say “We should have……” with about any player.
Ewing was polarizing in his prime. Randle came to us as a free agent, is again out playing his contract, and perhaps we should just enjoy his play for now. Flip last season with the one before we are progressing on the court, on yoot scale, and we have all our picks and three other firsts. The hard part is going from mid pack to elite.

Examples of why I lost my cool and went complete apeshit last year (while those people booed Julius Randle @ MSG). It pissed me off because A.) I knew Julius Randle hated playing alongside of Evan Fournier last year (after his All-Star season) and B.) I always knew he was an elite PG away from returning to All-Star form (thnx you, Jalen Brunson).

If I were Julius Randle? And my Front Office got me Kemba Walker/Evan Fournier (two atrocious defensive players) as "upgrades" after being eliminated by ATL 1st round? Yeah; I would've lost my cool here in NY too.

You can just see it all over Julius's body language. Replacing Fournier with Grimes and especially adding Jalen Brunson has Julius Randle believing in the Knicks again.

Dude is playing possessed.

He's literally putting up Carmelo Anthony/Patrick Ewing numbers (all rolled into 1, Julius Randle).

Even when MSG was booing this man, even when he was without a game changing PG (Brunson), even when fans on UK were mocking me for my Julius Randle support/belief etc, etc.

I still knew enough (about the game of basketball) to know that Julius Randle was/is out 3rd most talented NYK Player throughout the previous 30+ years outside of Patrick Ewing and alongside of Carmelo Anthony.

Such an amazing 2020-2021-2022-2023 feeling for Julius Randle to prove his supporters/believers, right.

Drafting Obi when we already have an All Star at that position was stupid. Giving Obi mins is asset management.

I disagree.

Julius Randle never became an All-Star until, after the drafting of Obi Toppin.

And then it happened; Julius Randle happened.

No one ever knew Julius Randle had this type of talent/max potential. Not the Lakers. Not the Pelicans and not the Knicks; or else they would've never let us steal him from them.
