Either we are outperforming on the road or underperforming at home- but our road record is indicative of a much better top 3 team.
Also appreciated Tood’s very funny posts. Laughed out loud more than once
Starters have very good chemistry and we arent getting any push from the bench. McBride was -10 tonight in 10 minutes. This how you your starters end up playing 40 minutes. I do think IQ's time starting should help and when he goes back to bench maybe that's out pop
10-10 at home and +3 on the road. 21-18 and sticking with the young guys, its great.

Good post.
Been saying all year Randle needs to cut down on threes. May be cuz his job is to keep middle open when JB has it going but no reason to take so many contested threes.
Grimes needs more set plays where we get him running through picks. Feel he will be good at either hitting the three or taking advantage of the chasing defender.

Oh, it occurs to me just now that maybe FUBU and Fubo are not the same?
The Knicks literally GAVE away 3 games in the past couple of weeks. The Dallas game was just a fluke and then you had 2 other games fairly recently where Brunson, Grimes and was it Randle that missed late game FTs, like repeatedly. Super, easy fixable stuff long term.
They would be 24-15. Like, solidly in the top 4 range for each conference. Above Philly in East and above Dallas in West. Wild.
Your record is what your record is, but the Knicks are doing this with all their young kids playing and making really fixable stuff

His defensive numbers are strong. Allegedly.
Does Martin like Heart ?
I do but he has definitely not played well.
Right now, a guy like Hart doesn't have the counting stats and it's readily obvious when he does not do well, and it's often.
He is really good in space. On offense and defense. He is a great help defender and can do the same on offense but the Knicks are not utilizing him that way right now - they tried it in the preseason and it didn't work. IMO the Knicks are still learning basic stuff and getting used to playing with Brunson and turning over the ball to IQ with the bench (IQ is more important to the Knicks from a team perspective - contract, ease of offense, etc). I'd expect Hart to have more passing chances next year, this year was just too soon for a team still trying to figure out IQ, Grimes, Brunson, McBride, RJ, Randle and the like.

The Knicks are probably where they're supposed to be in the rankings based on point differential. I haven't watched Indiana much this season, but it looks they've had a lot of luck along the way. Of be surprised if they keep it up, but people said the same thing about the Knicks the last playoff season. Also surprised at how low Milwaukee's differential. The Freak is going pedal to the metal and you gotta wonder how much he has left in the tank at seasons end. Same thing goes for Luka and Jokic.

I'm hoping in, say, 2 years Giannis gets tired and takes the year off and that top 4 protected first gets juicy

He had a couple clanks, but sometimes it feels like Randle has the most in an outs on 3's in the league. That said he is averaging 7.6 attempts per game this year - 2 more per game than the last 2 yrs when he average around 5.5 and only making 34%. He has been quite efficient - around 56% on his 2's and getting to the 7.2 times per game- 1.2 more than his 2020 career year.

He had a couple clanks, but sometimes it feels like Randle has the most in an outs on 3's in the league. I get all of that. But he wasn't hitting last night and Grimes was. This isn't necessarily Randle's fault, but I think the team needed to do a better job or recognizing who was hitting from three. And by the team, I really mean Thibs.

He's obviously important but I dont feel like this is Randle's team. It's Thibs team

I don't think we win the game last night without the play of Sims. He might have only had 2 blocks but he altered many more shots than that when the Spurs were pretty automatic with that old man mid range game. I suspect next year Sims will pass Hart on the depth chart. I also think next year Jokubaitus will come over and supplant IQ at backup PG. Although if still on the team, IQ would play combo guard again

I mean, we did come close to losing and the reason for a lot of that was due to a lack of situational awareness. Also missed free throws, botched defensive assignments etc. If this Thibs team, then maybe he needs to do a better job of pointing these things out. I'm not trying to turn this into a fire Thibs thread, but these fourth quarter meltdowns have become a trend.
