That was an awesome win and OMG was Julius Randle UNREAL with 36 Points (crazy 8/12 from 3) along with another 13 Rebounds and 4 Assists. This man has been playing @ an All-Star + an All-NBA level this year.
Big time win (against a very strong Cleveland team) in order to stop the losing streak.
Not pretty...but who cares.
I have a lot of issues with this team, but this is a gritty group of guys, even if it seemed we couldn't corral a rebound down the stretch.
Donavan Mitchell .. On the Cavs last 3 offensive possession going coast to coast, and one on one, and failing to score on all 3 TRIES .. Have Garland pissthe messed up !!!
Great win no matter what. Especially since Brunson was held in check. This game wasn’t winnable without Quickley. His numbers weren’t crazy but he keeps the team afloat when Brunson is out. He’s really improved into a big time impact guy.
Hartenstein played much better tonight. He’s not great but he did his job.
Refs swallowed the whistle on a lot of calls that could have gone knicks way. Glad to see they swallowed at the end.
Garland getting touch fouls called to his benefit was pretty maddening considering the way things were being otherwise called.

The Knicks bench players need their own Bench-lineup .. There's no reason to give any of the starter lineup players above 32 minutes per game. The Knicks Bench is deep in having 2-Way depth.
The Knicks 4 bench players started the 4th qtr. and snatched a 11 pt lead .. Randle and Brunson are put on the court and the Cavs go on a 11-2 run .... Have anyone been watching Randle & Brunson on the defensive end of the court lately .. we lose a lot of leads when they are on the court .. Just saying
First time at the Garden this year. Was an entertaining game if a bit maddening like most every Knick game seems to be. Was with some work people and I was literally trashing Hartenstein for about an hour, describing him to them as the Chuck Knoblauch of basketball as he is unable to hit a floater in the paint ever. He lived up to his billing but had a cpl nice putback jams and some good D at the end. Good job IHart. Now work on your confidence.
The foul calls Garland got were atrocious. Mitchell hit some insane step back 3s, but couldnt buy ine going to the basket. Im happy to have the unpopular opinion that we are better of without making that deal. He wasnt the right fit/cost for us.
Obi deserves minutes somewhere. When he plays consitently he can ball, but with 5 mins a game and limited shots that shot can go hot and cold easily.

Other than Quickley what "deep in 2-Way depth" players do the Knicks have on the bench?

The Knicks bench is deep in 2-way depth? The only 2-way player on the bench is Quickley. The bench is the weakness. Tonight it was good because they are finally getting a more confident Toppin. They can beat up on a weak Cavs bench. But the run is always going to happen with a starting lineup like the Cavs have and there’s no way to put that on Randle and Brunson.

Yeah. That whole situation was shady as hell though. If Allen had possession on that final Knicks possession (which they ruled he did-it's why they reset the clock) then the shot clock should have reset and Barrett wouldn't have rushed a three. Them stopping play and and awarding the Cavs the ball was shit as there was still time on the shot clock. So he had possession BEFORE the shot clock ran out and turned the ball over. the ball should have been awarded to the Knicks, from my perspective.

Cam Reddish, Sims, and don't sleep on McBride scoring, and Toppin's defense

+1
I was watching thinking how unusual it is the refs let some Knick contests at the end without blowing the automatic whistle- very unusual

Sims is not 2 way player, he is a poor man's Mitch right now. Toppin is not a 2 way player, his defense is barely average at best and his offense is Sims offense with some dunks and 3's thrown in. McBride isn't a two way plyer by any stretch of the imagination, this game was probably his highlight offensive game of the season so far.
Reddish, I won't argue with you on, he has potential. I like him. But it is what it is. He isn't playing.
IDK, maybe your standards are just different than mine.

RJ didn't really touch Garland on the play right? I didn't see it fully.
Feels like the refs are trying to help the Knicks tank. But not tonight!
Hart finally, finally has a good game.
And it wasn't even a foul.
Cavs fans will no doubt bitch and moan and then blame Thibs who forced the Cavs coach to play Donovan too many minutes - 38 in total - in his first game back after injury
