Not going to go all in on Cam here but there is no way Cam would be playing this crappy if he were being given 35-40 mins every night like RJ. His shooting might be up/down but we would get much better play everywhere else.
RJ is killing me watching him slug around - on defense he is basically just holding onto the offensive player for dear life…like he is being dragged behind a car.

This was supposed to be Cam Reddish (final contract) season, but we gave all Reddish playing time to RJ Barrett, making Barrett the most minute played player on the Knicks this season.
When Reddish defense & slashing & passing talents are better than Barrett.
Reddish is not a one on one scorer to fit in coach Thibs offense.

Hard to hate on Sims but he’s been really bad past few games - completely exposed and Hart exposed as pretty legit.
As Clyde pointed out, they looked like they ran out of steam by OT. Some believe that giving vets like Rose, Fournier, Svi, minutes is moving away from the youth movement. I disagree.
The idea is to make the playoffs with key players having something left in the tank. Playoff experience means more than regular season experience. Sometimes it comes down to conditioning. Like to see the bench help more in that dept.

We are the NY KNICKS - snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. JUST CRAZY - how ever ball bounces perfectly into the opponent’s hands at the garden - seemingly every time.

Brunson is such a good player. He willed his team back into this game. 41 points on 14/19 and 5/7 from three is insane! And he did it against guys who he has a little trouble with, those lengthy bigger players. And Brunson just took it to them and got into the paint whenever he wanted and his three ball was on on. So glad he's a Knick!
Great signs from Grimes the past two games. He's starting to hit that three again and hit timely shots. Same with Deuce! At this point I think I'm leaning toward just keeping Deuce in his current role over acquiring a vet to do it. Let the kid keep growing! Randle had a decent game but the 5 turnovers killed us.
At this point I have to admit RJ has become last years Randle in terms of just annoying the hell out of me. I'm starting to really dislike him and it sucks. It's at the level where I honestly prefer IQ in that lineup over him. It sucks cause I like RJ and have defended him. He's just letting everyone down. He hasn't taken that next step. Maybe there is no next step but he's going backwards. It's not just the poor shooting even though the missed wide open threes and missed layups in transition are killers. In the past he was at least a mediocre/average defender. Right now, he's horrendous. Even Clyde mentioned it last night. RJ doesn't try rotating to shooters and his one on one defense is poor. He gets cooked every single game with little to no resistance. He's Fournier level bad right now. I hate to say this but I wouldn't mind if he's traded in the next few days. I think I've seen enough. This kid isn't going to be what I thought he was going to be.

Because the clippers were shooting a 3.

Hell yeah! At this point I think I'd swap RJ for OG or Kuzma (if it worked financially) straight up, no picks. I'm really pissed and sour at RJ this morning.
I do give him credit for trying/confidence, most would stop shooting with those results. But, this falls on Thibs and the coaching staff. Hold him accountable, the last time they did, he had a solid game. His lack of 3s and abysmal defense hurt my eyes. Guaranteed a loss despite a great rest of the team 4th quarter. MADNESS.

You have to be very careful fouling on purpose in that situation. I remember in 1997 we fouled Glen Rice on purpose in the exact same situation and he hit the 3 and got a 4 point play for the win. I’m actually surprised the refs didn’t call a foul for Batum on that last second 3

Absolutely but the cost would likely be a combo of 4 picks and RJ/Obi — I’m really not sure what type of assets the rest of the league view RJ/Obi as.

The other thing is - both Brunso/RJ are 2 of our worst defenders and neither is a rebounder.
Why are they on the court when we need 1 stop and a rebound at the end of the game. Why not IQ? Duece? God forbid Cam?
I can live with Brunson because of his smarts but RJ shouldn’t be in on key defensive possessions.
Takeaways while watching were JB is playing at another level. Tough task being the best player on the floor with the other ones that were on it last night. He was.
Admired the level of roster the Clips have. Seasoned pros that can all shoot. Until they started to collapse at the end as well.
Second unit continued it's better play in the last three halves of games.
Deuce and Obi played great. Good to see Deuce be aggressive.
Thought the second unit should have stayed in a bit longer in the fourth when they led the comeback.
IQ had a bad game. Too much emphasis on scoring and not enough on setting others up.
RJ had a bad game. Disappointing after his last game.
He really has to stop taking so many quick threes when he does not have it going.
Randle seemed to be in passing mode most of game. Had 7 assists compared to the next game high of three until late in the 4th. Still having trouble when he turns his back to the basket and continues to dribble. Better attacking while facing basket and going downhill. Needs to give up the ball once he turns his back. Teams are scouting him and sending another player to him as soon as he does.
Still a great game. Although extremely disappointing.
We were one stop away from having a completely positive spin.
Fouls were the difference as was the Knicks running out of gas.
Loved the comeback and we shot well from three.
People complaining about ball movement may be over reacting.
However, I think it's more about the lack of guys kicking out the ball after drives than just ball movement. We have JB, IQ and RJ who once they drive, they are going to put it up. Despite what defense is giving them.
Randle is the only one really looking to kick out on drives.
