As awesome as the Knicks new Big 3 were, and Mitch too, I'm afraid to say my boy Deuce was a dud, and EF reminded us all why he's out of the rotation - horrible.

Some real talent...and some real tragedy when you look at Knight and Ray Williams. Toby was a great offensive talent (Have a friend who said he was a "black hole" on offense) until his injury. Ray was, arguably, the best pure athlete who ever played for the Knicks, but his life took a dive after basketball, and he died very young.

He seems to need minutes on a regular basis to be at his best, especially his shot.

Mitch was an enigma tonight. Played GREAT defense obviously with the blocks and rebounds, but man, how many missed dunks. If he finished his dunks Knicks could have had 4 players with 30!
And can SOMEBODY tell him to put a little arc on his free throws? I mean WHO IS the Free throw coach? Should be fired!

LOL - his missed dunks almost fly as far as his missed free throws, but he did have an impactful game tonight.
It would have been complete layup line without Mitch tonight.

Mitch 5-12 from 1”.

I was thinking it was more that it was mostly an offensive game and his real impact to me will be 4-5 mins on select match-ups in playoffs but tonight he shot poorly and his impact was zilch.

One observation that needs to be mentioned...IQ and Obi combined for 71 points while Tyrese Haliburton, the guy I wanted us to draft, was watching from the Indiana bench.

TH seems injury prone, so far, though he has some significant talent. The rise of IQ as a complete player, who is also durable, makes it much easier to accept that we took Obi ahead of Haliburton.

I don’t pay attention enough, what’s Hali’s defense like?

HofstraBBall @ 4/6/2023 12:18 AM
Our new big three looked great. Snipers tonight.
IQ has really solidified a nice contract extension.
Great to see Grimes continue his tear.
Obi making the most of minutes and proving he can produce if given minutes.

Briggs will start a trade JB, JR and RJ thread.

Have not watched him enough, but Brunson averaged 32 pts/gm in the two games he played against the Pacers and Haliburton. Not sure how often he was guarding Brunson, though.

Like IQ, he has shown progress over his 3 years...His offensive numbers are pretty solid.

More of that new found All Star gravity on the court by Quick. Great play by Thibs here.

Clean @ 4/6/2023 1:44 AM

This is so damn true. People worried about Obi's rebounding. I am just happy we get many transition pts when he plays. That is a tradeoff I will happily take with how hard our pts usually come(With a full team). Leaking is one of Obi's specialties. No way would I ask him to slow them down.
ESOMKnicks @ 4/6/2023 4:24 AM
The game was a lot of fun, but total garbage. Nice to see the Knicks win, but a lot nicer to see that no one got hurt.
EwingsGlass @ 4/6/2023 6:40 AM
Didn't get to watch. Seemed like all the kids had points, rebounds and assists. Saw clips on Mitch. I mean, seems like they were finding him. Just needs to get comfortable with the ball. I know its been 4 years, but he hasn;t gotten passes like that in years.

Yeah, you can’t expect Obi to put up rebounding numbers like Randle or other PF. He’s a transition player who scores and impacts the game with his running and not his rebounding. I like this change of pace substitution. But that’s up to thibs and his playoff rotation once Randle is back.

Another good Thibs play. We need to see these type of plays more when at full strength. Look at all that player movement. Look how easy the shot was because of the mistakes that player movement caused. Wonderful.
SergioNYK @ 4/6/2023 9:02 AM
I know it was against a GL squad Hicks team but this was the first time in NBA history that three players had 30 points with five threes each!

Can't help but feel giddy over these young guys. For years we've fumbled the draft and ended up with trash like Ntilikina but now you have to say we've done a very good job at drafting and developing! IQ is without a doubt a starter in this league. He's been outstanding and deserves that 6MOY award! Grimes continues to show off his skills not only as a shooter but as a playmaker and even had some nice dunks. Very happy for Obi! Showed again with minutes he can contribute and is more than just a dunker. That cross over step back was nice!

Very impressed with Rob too! Looked liked a rookie Shaq posting and dunking!

Got to get by these last two games healthy!

Haha! I was thinking the same thing, only Shaq sunk his dunks!

Last night's game had no impact on the standings and came against a subpar Indy squad, but it was not a meaningless game.

Guys are now getting a chance to show us what they can do with extra minutes and looks. Obviously the biggest benefactor is Obi with the extra minutes - but Grimes is being featured more on offense, and Mitch was finally given the goddamn ball (and made some nice moves!!!)

This was a confidence game, and losing it would have definitely taken some of the wind out of our sails. Happy with the W and hope to see more big games from Obi/Grimes and crew to close out the season. Let's finish on a win streak!

I think what we are FINALLY seeing is that the players now know what they are supposed to do. Obivously it's harder to implement with guys that are also so good at ISO ala Randle, Brunson... but the young guys have all be drilled over and over and over the past 2-3 season on running the same actions, they now have them down and are starting to add a bit more.

Beautiful to watch.

I tend to agree about just letting Obi continue to pick his spots on the leak outs BUT there are many occasions where sometimes the camera only catches it partially that shows Obi leaking out and realizing OOPS the other team just got the offensive rebound.

I love the pace and unselfishness we play with Obi on the court but sure would like to see his quickness/jumping result in more rebounds.
