Knicks · The official sticky (eew) expectation thread (page 1)

hate to make anything "sticky"!

Lets start with this funnyman.......

So have most of you decided your level of contentment?

47 wins, about 10 more than predicted by "experts". You good with that?
Or reserve judgement until after playoffs?

Does it matter if we get beaten, or lose?
Do match ups matter?

Nalod good no matter what. Great season. Will I be pissed at losing? Depends on how I suppose.
Sometimes matchups matter.
Seven games vs 4. It will matter.
Will Randle be ok, and if so, does good Randle show up?
WIll JB be able to handle it defensively?
How will we use RJ?

I think as long as we can make Cavs series competitive (6-7 hardfought games) then this season was a big success.
KnickDanger @ 4/10/2023 7:51 PM
Like all of us I remember the let down after being whupped by the Hawks in 2021. I don't expect that sort of failing, but even if say Randle cannot go and we get...whupped...the difference in that squad and this one is immensely evident. So yeah this season is already a success, Now go whup the Cavs.

Forget about me not picking up SAS if I drove by him in the desert. I seriously think I'd run him over. Reverse and run him over again.

Was a fan of Smith's not so long ago. Was nice having a vocal Knicks fan in such a prominent role on TV. Even when I disagreed with his take.

Believe Smith jumped the shark as a fan, over the non-Mitchell trade. They were asking too damned much. Stephen A wanted to give away the store. We got 47 wins without Mitchell, as Nalod pointed out. We still have the assets to make more moves.

When it was clear that this team was still very competitive without a DM trade, Smith dug in.

I disagree that losing to the Cavs validates the need to have made this trade. One, we're facing the Cavs in the playoffs, not on the outside looking in.

Two, all the Knicks have to do is make it competitive, to validate the FO passing on Mitchell. Win or lose. Its about how much of a fight the Knicks put up. Plenty of assets, and picks to build from there.

I'd pick him up because I'd want to hear why the hell he was out there alone?
Desert is a big place, I might enjoy the company. I can always let him out.

Also, I find a guy like SAS goes away and two more pop up and are worse.
The redeeming factor about him is we know its an act and, he is a knick fan.
He is often off base but in the end the games tell the story, no him. Or us for that matter!!
When he is wrong, he does man up on it. Not everyone here does.
He is annoying and I only get him when his snippits are reposted on Youtube. Otherwise he is a non factor.

A healthy Randle is pretty important to beating the Cavs. They have two young bigs in Mobley and Jarrett Allen. But Mobley doesn't have his man strength yet and I think Randle takes him out of the equation. Robinson has size and strength on Allen. I think our bigs neutralize their bigs and that makes us a bad matchup for them. If Randle is healthy.

After that Cavs and the Knicks are pretty similarly situated. Deep roster. Brunson has gotten the better of Mitchell on offense. Grimes has done a decent job on Mitchell on defense.

Both teams lack elite 3 point shooting that turns games into blowouts. But, I think the Cavs are one of the few teams in the league that the Knicks are older than. More experienced.

I wanted this matchup for the Knicks in the first round. Its a good matchup for us if we are healthy.

Talking mouth. I am ready for him to go away. Time to get the media to pump the Knicks. We won 3 out of 4 during the season. We are allowed to think we can do this.

Out of all the fans on this site, I agree and respect your posts. I would also agree and respect SAS more than some on this site.

Everybody wants the same goal, a championship. Who cares if one fan rather take a different route than another fan. Why is it so hard to simply respect each others approach to the same goal? Are people mad because they afraid to say what they really want to say.

SAS is from queens and he’s a knick fan period. Sure I don’t agree with everything but I can say the same thing about most people on this site. The difference is SAS doesn’t mind hanging his azz out and speaking his mind.

If you believe DM is a superstar, then he has a point. I just don’t hold DM as high as SAS and enjoy watching our home grown talent grow. Watching how JB and Hart especially pumps new blood into this team. Right now I’m as happy as I ever been as a Knicks fan. Can’t wait to see what we do in the cavs series. I feel like Randle will do his Willis reed impression. Limp onto the court and increase the team’s intensity with his on court leadership.

SAS gotta jump the shark to keep his ratings.
He gets put on my "Google news" with it. THats how the internet works and ESPN revenue needs with declining viewership with more moving on line.
That said, if we don't bring Brunson on perhaps we do the trade. Without Brunson this is not an issue as I doubt we are 5th seed.
So what is SAS doing? Creating a thing. Kicks win, we draw attention to him and his comment. He apologizes and that gets sent around the internet.
Knicks lose same thing. Either way SAS is drawing attention.
None of the anti knick media bothers me because over the years they been more accurate than not.
