Easiest way to beat the Knicks - make him lose his cool. His control has been way better, but he gave a few of those frustration fouls (If he feels like he didn't draw a whistle, he often follows up with a loose ball foul out of frustration. Can't be giving up too many free points.
Knicks have to watch the traps. They forced turnovers down the stretch from us when they needed it. Our spacing was bad and it made it easier to trap us or have us run into our own guys.
Cavs are a great defensive team, but I expect the Knicks to have a better game offensively. Big believer in Quickly and Grimes bouncing back.
Should be another battle tonight!
I wouldn't be surprised if the refs take the physicality out of the game. The refs tried to give game 1 to the Cavs but they just couldn't match us physically. Okoro had a couple of dangerous plays. He trailed Obi on a leak out and hit Obi's foot while he was coming down from the dunk causing Obi to fall out of control into the backstop. Okra then ran to the other side of the court and obliterated Brunson. I was pretty happy when Randle smashed his face and it was a basketball move and not a flagrant
There was also the Mitchell dive out of bounds to save the ball. Great play but the ball hit out of bounds on the throw in and should have been Knicks ball. The Mitchell shove on Randle was obviously a tech and not called. IQ was getting manhandled with no calls and yet Cavs were getting some contact fouls where the Knicks get none. Putting Brunson in would trouble was total BS, Garland was doing much more obvious holding and no calls.
Anyway, I wouldn't be shocked to see the refs put Randle in foul trouble tonight....and I mean for offensive fouls.

Officiating was rough in Game 1, but Randle seemed pretty tame. I think coaching staff sat him down and reminded him this is the playoffs - there will be banging around without a whistle. Expect to not get the call on any given play.
We are a physical team though. If the refs aren't going to call it, we can give more than we get. Problem is going to be if there's an overcorrection tonight. If Julius got hit with the same BS calls Brunson got, we might've had a different story...

I don’t think other players make him lose his cool. It’s the refs (and questionable no-calls) that make him flip out.

In honor of Josh Hart... Keyser Soze. Limp... no limp.
I think @Rookie made a good prediction. The refs will find a way to get Randle in early foul trouble - avoiding Randle's typical fast offensive starts. But that will open the door for some big Quickley/Brunson minutes together, when Quickley is least predictable/defendable.

What Hart is playing ? Darn no Fournier !!!! Just kidding

Oh shoot. Celtics vs Hawks got booted to NBA TV

I hope JHart does not make his injury worse. I really hope Thibs is keeping an eye on his performance and will allocate those minutes accordingly

Remind me Garland, who was supposed to be doing the smacking?
Rookie@ 4/18/2023 7:55 PM
A lot of whistles and all against the Knicks. So only one team is fouling?

I wish we could incorporate the best of what Brunson and Randle do into the Knicks ball movement offense we saw the last couple of games in the regular season.
It is amazing to see Grimes just disappear like he does when Randle and Brunson play together on the same court.
