Add him to the staff...Thibs can mentor him.

Maybe Thibs can mentor Monty as well.

Lot of top coaches getting the axe. With the Sixers it boils down to Embiid. 1) He doesn't play enough and 2) In the biggest game of the year he played like utter dog crap.

What’s up Doc?
KnickDanger @ 5/16/2023 4:11 PM
Add him to the secret behind Thibs' back interview list.

This what happens when expectations are high and the team doesn’t perform. Get another coach and keep it moving. It’s the players to me that makes the difference. Coaches are a dime a dozen. But embed type players are generational talent. They trying to keep the top players happy. We’ll see

He’s had a good run. He should retire. Two years 16M left on his contract. Very not bad.

He’s had an excellent second career as a head coach. He’s still sorta living off that first season he had with the magic 23 years ago when they had no one and Doc had them playing competitive basketball. He parlayed that to winning with the Celtics years later with what was essentially a superteam

One of the biggest what ifs ever is what if the Knicks had not done that three way trade in 1992 that ended up with us giving up mark jackson and getting back Doc and Charles Smith. Everyone was raving about that trade back then but it probably cost us a series win over the bulls in 1993
