Probably not as bad up north.
I know close to the beach, we sometimes get a on shore breeze which might help things out.
So - shortly after posting this, OMG - it is like a thick cloud has desceded.
Unreal how dark it is. Much much worse than the start of the day or even shortly after noon.

Everyone on the west coast has definitely had their fill too.
To give everyone a better picture, Ottawa is on the same parallel line as mid-Maine while being directly north of Washington DC.... and the smoke from those fires is way past NYC and past Virginia too?
And this is just the start of the fire season.
Scientists are saying that we will see ice-free Artic summers as soon as the 2030s. That's not going to help.
Like living through one of those dystopian 70s sci-fi films.
always wanted to be cool like Charlton Heston.
Time to dust off my copy of Soylent Green- that is better than Omega Man- rather eat people in processed form than be eaten by zombies!
Streets of nyc are filled with people wearing masks myself included. And was sent home from work early. Shades of the pandemic.

Heston was my favorite actor when I was a kid. I watch Soylent Green several times a year. Was really weird when it actually became 2022. Can't wait for the 4k version. Also like Omega Man. I thought that anti-science zealots who want to return the world to the middle ages, after a pandemic. Was eerily prescient lol.
The original Rollerball is out in 4k. One of my favorites as well.
The movie that really captured where we were and where we were headed is "Children of Men". No one will put that much money behind a project like that anymore. Almost a fluke.
Too bad Canada didn't rake their forrest like Trump said.
What’s the big deal? This is what the entire country’s air will look like in 10 years after the Supreme Court gets rid of the EPA

I struggle to watch some of these movies because of how close things hit home to the world we're leaving our kids.
I'm going to have to buy the Rollerball 4K because all time classic.
I just read the wiki for Children of Men - don't think I can watch it - I like my entertainment light and fluffy, mostly, these days. World sucks enough without having to imagine it worse.
Ever watch Zardoz?

I remember a Sean Connery movie about a flying rock. Weird! "Outland" is my favorite Connery Sci-fi.
Try taking a chance on Children of Men. It's been regularly voted as one of the best films of this century. Forgot the name of the DP, but he's won 3 Oscars in a row for cinematography. There are some funny lines, and it has a hopeful ending.
I was 12 and my parents took me to see Zardoz. First time saw topless on film. All I remember about the movie!
Mom loved Sci-fi did not mind it was rated R. I certainly did not either
Not a flying rock! A head of GOD that brought traded grain for guns!
Talk about making the best out of a bad situation.

Right now it seems pretty nice outside in Suffolk. Tempting to go for a walk but I ain’t messing with my lungs.

Zion's pornstar girlfriend decided to get wet to prevent him from burning. Not from the Canadian fires, but from possible STDs.
