I don't want to say this class is trash, but this year would've been a good time to punt on on a draft pick. Briggs boy Clingan is getting some lottery love tho.

Sucks for Coach Payne. This was the crown jewel of the Louisville recruiting class. I'm not sure how much of an issue money was in the decision. I'm sure the NIL was legit. But it speaks to the reputation the Australian league has gained over the years as a developmental league for NBA prospects. Also, if I'm a college coach, it changes the way I recruit. It's like dating 8-10s have way to many options unless they have character issues. It might be better to zero in on the 5,6s with strong character and the potential to improve.

Knicks have done a great job with the draft. IQ, Grimes, Mitch and RJ are home grown rotation guys. We used picks to maneuver and add Brunson and Josh Hart at age 26 & 27, two key guys in the primes of their career.

Knicks have a young ascending team with upside, no super max or bad contracts and are flush with draft assets. I have no problem if this squad performs well (again), takes another step forward, we run it back and kick the draft assets down the road AGAIN

(Knicks predicted preseason draft order 14, 17, 34, 39)

Good news. Lucky they caught in time.

And I might add they even took two shots that didn't work out in Obi and Reddish that didn't hold the team back but gave them a chance to try out a young player. Plus have good end of rotation players like Deuce and Simms, plus a draft and stash in Rokas. Plus we are taking shots with Roby and Knight with room to add more.

A couple of the early names to keep a close eye on for the Knicks are in here.

Ryan Dunn is a perfect candidate for the Knicks as a big wing/ forward who is an elite athlete and defender. He’s also from Long Island and is signed to CAA. He can’t shoot but if he could we wouldn’t be talking about him because he would be a top 5 pick.

Kevin McCullar is a fit as another bigger wing and elite defender. He’s like a bigger but less accomplished Josh hart. Can do everything but is an old prospect. Along the lines of how they draft.

I think I like Klintman over Missi, but another center might make sense if iHart leaves in FA.

Thread isn’t the same without some Briggs picks- some of which are completely off base, others that are good!
franco12 @ 11/29/2023 11:46 PM
And I have to imagine these get traded somehow some way to get us some more size and production up front.
