I truly hope the Sixers give it to him.

Think Yves Missi is now their starting center?

Still cant believe the Clips gave up 5 1st round picks and 2 swaps (I believe) to get George and now they are going to let him walk?

I'll say. IHart averaged 9 9 and 3 roughly in his starts. Jonas averaged 12 8 and 2. Jonas just got 10 mil a year. IHart looking at double that?

....or OKC Tax? Such a thing?

The last part about opportunities living in NY vs OKC reminds me of this old Rick Barry story my dad told me when he rumored to go in a trade to Virginia.
https://vault.si.com/vault/1970/08/24/ye...

Last week a disgruntled Barry mocked Virginia: "My son Scooter is supposed to go to nursery school this year. I hate to think of the complications that'll cause in Virginia. I don't want him to go down there to school and learn to speak with a Southern accent. He'll come home from school saying, 'Hi yall, Daad.' I sure don't want that.

"I've been to Virginia once before, to a basketball tournament in Portsmouth. It seemed all right, but then I knew I'd be leaving right away," he adds. "That gives you some idea how I feel about the place. I could say a lot worse things, but I won't...yet."

I'm really happy to see Chris Paul wind up in San Antonio. I think last year he was a shell of his former self and never got in a groove in Golden State. As long as he's healthy, the Spurs will be competitivt. It will be great to see him hook up with Wemby all next season.

I like this signing. He set the market.

This definitly did not set the market for iHart. If Thunder offer him this we could easily match it and if all things are equal he would stay. So to actually get him they have to go above what we can pay.

nycericanguy @ 7/1/2024 7:17 AM
damn I thought Jonas could have been a great replacement if Ihart leaves. His production on a per min basis blows away Ihart. Might not be as good a defender but as a two headed tandem with Mitch he would have been great and he can actually step out and hit an 18 foot jumper and also create his own shot down low when he needs to.

goes to show you, the center market there are always good ones available for cheap... Ihart is the chosen one to get paid this summer but even he only got 8m last summer... seems to be situational who gets paid and then teams end up wanting to dump the contract.

CApela got $20m and he's a good C but now worthless because of his contract.

VDesai @ 7/1/2024 7:20 AM
Jonas is very bad on D. I doubt he was under strong consideration. Weird signing by Washington.
martin @ 7/1/2024 8:02 AM
Baller got what he built. Too much of a business, not enough of a team.

Giving up that many picks for one player is seldom a good idea.

Sixers look strong. Never wish injuries on anyone but the chances of Paul and Embid both being healthy come playoff time is slim. I feel the over under for Paul’s contract is at 2 over the next 4 years.
