Sure we lament the mistakes and setbacks. But sports is all about going forward after failure and that is a source of entertainment itself. So keep the arguments and claiming of expertise to a minimum and laugh with others and at yourselves. Plus enjoy the Rick Astley sound track of the forum, and learn what the Alba effect is, which was mentioned earlier. That's how we roll here.
Nalod fights with phil almost every day LOL.
Scales of magnitude my friend. Scales of magnitude. And if you site then it's because it's more the exception then the rule. Anyway, what do you like about this board ? Speak a little about the place and why you post, and what you would like to be preserved if a rush of new posters arrive with their own styles ?
It's the most 'mature' Knicks site imo. Most of the members are adults and keep the conversations civil yet fun and productive.
Indeed.
Rookie wrote:OK I give up. What is a PSD and can it be treated?
I don't know if it can be treated. I would say that perhaps my thread can serve as an inoculation. https://forums.prosportsdaily.com/forumdisplay.php?62-New-York-Knicks. This former Knicks forum is similar to the Ultimate Knicks forum. Similar to how Australia is to New Zealand, The US is to Canada, Austria to Germany, Scotland to England. Similar is not the same however. Many posters here used to post at the PSD forum which changed over the years. Posters found the Ultimate Knicks to be a more light hearted, after work pub, where people come to relax with cool folks who can easily mingle in other topics along with Knicks talk. A place to talk Knicks and debate. Yet, not argue Knicks topics, for the most part

Wonderful forum, indeed. Speak to why you like it here specifically, versus other similar forums if you ever been at another Knicks forum. What makes this forum unique ?
I'm still registered there and I saw that they are planning to come here en masse, even joking (I hope) about taking over. As has been described this is a very different kind of site. Knuckleheads including myself have their say, but there is a reasoned - yes, adult - mindset in place. Knowledgeable, funny, and occasionally tolerant! It is my hope that will deflect incoming negativity. So to echo Alpha's initial greeting, welcome but please understand this is a different neighborhood. We don't all spend our days thinking up new ways to say I hate Randle and Thibs. Most of us anyway. And to the good guys coming from there most welcome : ) .
Alpha1971 wrote:For former members of the defunct Pro Sports Daily Forum, this board doesn't force conversations to remain in one designated thread. For example, if your discussing a trade it has to stay strictly in a thread for that topic. Inorder to discuss a trade or a free agent signing you don't have to have a link to said transaction to discuss it. Posters here don't keep a discussion here firing hot about a player they felt should have been drafted, or signed at the expense of another for 3 or 4 years. Then posters here don't go and search old posts from 3-4 years ago, to prove a point they have to " I' ll show that guy ". We dont claim expertise for making a opinion that might go out way and have to crow about it non stop. You guys at PSD might recognize what I am talking about. If that was your culture and the ecosystem you enjoyed, great for that past now dead forum. Just recognize the extent that those type of behaviors were practiced is not typical here. Many former members have come here to avoid that sort of thing. So if that is what you want to replicate, then those of you can keep your community alive at a Patreon, that was started by a PSD Knicks member. Or start one at Reddit.
When your forum acronym is PSD, things are gonna head down a path of despair, it was foretold
KnickDanger wrote:Ugh -= there goes the neighborhood. Alpha i appreciate the diplomacy in your thread lead but I will write out what is in between the lines. PSD Knicks is dominated by a handful of loud jerks - if you thought Dump Randle/Fire Thibs was a thing here wait until they arrive. Every thread is shouted into that conclusion. I posted there for many years and it was once a great site. There are still some good posters there but again there are a few who dominate and there is no room for discussion. I stopped posting there after getting tired of being shamed for arguing that the Porzingis trade was not the worst of all time, that we shouldn't attach multiple #1's to Randle for Westbrook and he was actually better and more productive than Obi, that Thibs had a clue, and our Front Office was doing things smartly. I'm all for back and forth in disagreement, but that's not what goes on there.I'm still registered there and I saw that they are planning to come here en masse, even joking (I hope) about taking over. I would say in my opinion, the PSD forum is made up of several posters who live to tell everybody that they are right and everyone else is wrong. That's the difference in the two forums cultures. The PSD forum was once more pluralistic and diverse, years ago. The remaining members who lasted to the end are those who know no other approach to conversation. They are commenting, a few of them, how they are coming here because it seems so similar, and they don't like change. Not realizing that it's not the same forum and they should be considerate of the possibility that there may be a better way of doing things. There are several others here who used to post at PSD and we came here anonymously and adjusted to the new culture. Let's hope the good posters come and contribute and those who fit into the toxic culture are mature and introspective and don't bring what should be left to die at PSD. They should all start fresh, use new names, and be born again.

Don't forget a " Who won the KP trade ", " Haliburton vs Obi for the 100,009x ", " Leon Rose sucks " threads. I mean we all have discussed these things but not to the order of magnitude done there. We will discuss it and then throw in musical references, political banter, talk about cheerleaders, vacations, our jobs or whatever streamed freely from our subconscious and yuck it up. Let's hope the newcomers read this and take it to heart. There is a better way to converse. What scares me for this board is that the majority of posters take weeks off, when they return they won't know what happened. Most posters here take weeks off and don't post daily because we have other interesting things going on in our lives. PSD posters, many of them post 20 hours a day, watch every game in the NBA nightly and think it's normal to hyper focus on sports. Most people who have no experience at PSD have no clue of what I am talking about. I am not exaggerating

Nothing will match a lengthy Tony Wroten thread. Or a Jessica one

lol, you say that like the Tony Wooten thread can be killed. Just curious Martin, how many new sign ups so far?
as an aside, wasn't there a thread memorializing some of the best banned posters of all time

There is another forum called NY Knicks Fan Page, they should consider. That site is like this one with far less activity. Maybe they can all go in mass there. They can likely bum rush the place like a viral infection and infect the host within hours.

Dude! 3 or 4 is hardly thread worthy. Can we ban Alpha1971?
Alpha1971 wrote:The Real GM Knicks board is similar to Ultimate Knicks but they have younger posters I think or more so. They have really cool topics. Years ago I am not sure if it was Ultimate Knicks or Real GM that had threads on prettiest woman most handsome men. It was a hoot. Both sites talked about many other topics other then the Knicks. Yet, the PSD mods frowned on the posters pasting on whatever they wanted to talk about. OCD, or anal retentive personality caused mods to have everything nearly in their boxes. You commented about a topic outside it's appointed thread it was moved and posters warned. Very dysfunctional causing dozens of posters to leave steadily over many years. Let's do our part to Keep Ultimate Knicks Great.
Pretty sure most handsome men is a list of one…

I will take it for the greater good. Ban me but ban the newcomers. I will honor " The good of the many outweighs the good of the one " . I will do that for you and your happiness, my brother.
