They tried to trade for Lavine, George and Embiid but their teams are asking for way too much.

Yo, Evan tell your agent to tell Rose your client is willing to play the 4. Backing up Julius, he will be the stretch 4, and defend like they need him to
SergioNYK @ 8/20/2023 7:24 PM
Surprised and feel bad for Fournier still being here. Trading him shouldn't be this hard.

Teams still expecting to get the Knicks tax.

PassTheBall @ 8/21/2023 6:13 AM
Making a trade in the NBA seems to be damn near impossible these days.

We're going to need Fournier's contract in a trade for a star when/if we decide to pull the trigger. Problem is that the teams trading away their star players don't tend to overlap with the ones who are actively seeking out a 30 year old veteran shooter.

I respect the hell out of both Fournier's honesty and professionalism over this past year. He's definitely still an NBA player, but probably won't find a permanent home until next year with a new contract.

If Fourn is still on the roster after the deadline Knicks should waive him or buy him out. I can't see him on the roster after the trade deadline, that would make no sense if he's not playing at all.

Salary trade fodder for when you send a prospect like IQ who is on a small deal cap wise for now.

After his "spitting" comment. I doubt Fournier will play for us again. Was a class act during the season. Offseason....

also Berman. He coming with the heat

Among the first things I've read from Berman that I liked.

Yup, 18 million reasons to STFU already.

Media depiction of him being "disgruntled"?
He handled his demotion like a pro. So did DRose.
Were they happy about? Of course not. They sat, team succeeded, they were good.
The checks keep coming. Its a tough business.
Is Evan out of line? No, he said he'd be surprised if he stayed and he wants to play. What else should he say?
Do we need to demonize him and paint him a villain now?
He was a not a good fit. it happens. did his contract destroy us? Hardly.
He is trade fodder. He knows it. Him and his agent should want an opportunity and Knicks im sure would be happy to oblige him but they need something in return that does not put the team at a disadvantage.
Until then I wish him well. Man has to do what's good for him too.
We could stretch his salary over 5 years and move on. He likely is too good for Euroleague and not good enough to start in NBA.

Didn't realize EF was a villain now! I thought he handled himself well, which you already stated.

Also, made a slight correction on your last statement. I believe EF is a quality starter, for the right team.

EF for Buddy Hield works almost perfectly.

Brunson/ IQ
Hield/ Grimes
RJ/ DDV
Randle/ Hart
Robinson/ Hartenstein

Works as a perfect disaster. Buddy won't take being buried at the end of the bench as professionally as Evan has. And you know this is where things will go with him.

I penciled him in as the starter.

They're both 30 and bad at defense. Buddy is a slightly better player, but I don't think it would be enough for Thibs not to get sick of him. Plus, Buddy is looking for an extension. The better move would be to hold on to Evan as salary filler in a better trade or to let him fall off the books.
