Fans often think a player is paid for what he did.
GMs pay for what they think they will do.
Vassell seems like the latter.
As was Brunson when we signed him.

New City versions

Some of them kinda suck, some are just boring. Love the knicks throwback. Indy and Nets are just silly.
Toronto are so ugly they are cool.

Due to what he is doing at this age I am close to putting Lebron as the Goat. His best asset is his body. He would still be the best player on our team if we were to sign him today. The only thing that looks like it could slow him down is injury.

Amazing ball and player movement at the end of the game. None of that ISO trash we always go to.

Clean @ 11/2/2023 11:56 PM

The true definition of a unicorn. Th Spurs always tank at the right time and always get their man.

Someone put it this way: Jordan is the Goat. Lebron might have had the best career.
Longevity should be honored. Chips should be honored. Jordans 6-0 means a lot. It came after the expansion era and league talent is seen as watered down then which might be why there was less opposition. Can't truly quantify it one way or the other. 6-0 and his on court performances and marketing break through is what it is.

No two eras are the same as are players. Kareem has the rings, MVPs and the longevity but Jordan is seen as the GOAT. Russell had 11 in 13 years including 2 NCAA's. Not the Goat. Still revered as the great one.

All the guys get their due in different ways. Lebron is not perfect, but he'll be honored in due time for his accomplishments.

Longevity doesn't make you the GOAT.

I smell a first round exit from the playoffs. He'll end up quiting on them when they need him the most, just like Philly.

Surprised by his words. He led the league in assists last year.
Curious is Philly makes a run for derozen or Lavine.
Just when we shake our heads about the price teams pay and we think its a failure they surprise us.
That Clippers walk into new building with Harden, George and Kawhi all can be free is fascinating.
I'll give them credit, they are all in on this!!!!!

They got a good rivalry in LA right now.

Good golly...have watched the Spurs play and beat the Suns the last two nights...Tonight had to be a breakout game for Wembanyama. There were a number of times where he just decided to take over...twice he he hit 3s...The other time he moved like a small forward w/o the ball, got in position to get the pass, and then, without putting the ball on the floor, hit a midrange J.

He is progressing faster on offense than I expected. His movement without the ball is already better than any starter on the Knicks.

Barring injury, he really does seem like a true generational talent, a term thrown around much too often as the NBA draft approaches. Definitely worth the tanking.

Mark Davis owner of the Raiders: Very Dolanesque thing to fire GM and coach mid season.
Itself, not so bad. ITs the level of inconsistency in the franchise since he took over:

Pierce will become the 12th different person to coach a game for the Raiders over the past 20 seasons, including interim coach
es -- the most of any NFL franchise over that span. Pierce will be the eighth coach, interim or regular, for the Raiders since Davis took over control of the team after the death of his father, Al Davis, is October 2011. Pierce follows McDaniels, Rich Bisaccia, Jon Gruden, Jack Del Rio, Tony Sparano, Dennis Allen and Hue Jackson.

The instability unsurprisingly has come with a price -- aside from the financial one -- to Davis. The Raiders have not won a division title since 2002, tied with the Jets for the NFL's third-longest active drought, behind only the Browns (1989) and Lions (1993).

And that stupid hair cut!!!!

We get to see Wemby this week. He has had some down games, but he's been fun so far. I wonder who gets that matchup defensively for us. There's not an obvious defender for him (not that any team has an obvious defender for him). If we have to bring out Mitch/Hartenstein on him it definitely hurts what we try to do defensively. Should be a fun game.

The Spurs are weird matchup wise. Sochan is doing a lot of playmaking and Jules is going to have to work some in that matchup. Keldon is also a big boy and Vassel has good size. Looking forward to seeing what Things does.

Caught the OT of Minny handing Celtics their first loss. KAT fouled out and had a shit game, but Edwards was unstoppable in crunch time.
Minny 4-2. Celts 5-1.

SAS got spanked by Pacers by 41 Pts!!!

VDesai @ 11/8/2023 8:46 AM
Jaden McDaniels played well in that game too. He's a total X-Factor for them and he is really great defensively. He has that long/slender build that would have been useless in the old NBA with burly power forwards/post centered basketball. But now he is a 5 position defender who can stick a 3/finish in transition and is a glue player. Nextgen Tayshaun Prince...
