I am not sure I like the nba anymore. This is no longer the game I grew up loving. They have changed the rules so much that you can now take 4 or 5 steps and it not be a travel. You can now take another step after establishing you pivot foot. The whole point of the pivot foot is because you can't take any more steps so you can't lift that foot until a pass or shot.

That is awesome Martin - just absolutely atrocious that league can’t take some of this stuff away.

On the Tatum pump fake step thru - I get that you are allowed to step thru with the non-pivot foot but I always thought both feet had to leave the floor at the same time ——- no idea how you can step thru and step again with pivot…makes no sense.

The pivot foot thing on general is just so bad with guys switching and moving all over. The EURO STEP I have tried for years and my brain won’t allow to do it.

Love the Melo pull up with the 10 baby steps into the shot.

Goes for steal, fouls a shooter. 2 huge mental mistakes.

OKC ties it up and then wins in OT

He can’t help himself - when he wants to do something stupid nobody is going to stop him.

Like Randle is good/bad —- Green is smart/stupid

I think Shams also reiterated that DeRozan wants Knicks or Philly?

Great how only player who wants NY (Knicks) is a guy that seemingly doesn’t fit with us.

He wants to go were he can get paid?
Lakers have some contracts they can move next week but will they pay him beyond?
I like Derozen, but wish him well on another team!

Draymond is a menace and not in good way. The dude's got anger management issues.

I was a big of him when he was at UNC to the point I thought he would be a big time scorer from day 1. I had kind of given up on him being more then a OK role player but maybe he's finally figured it out. He always had 3 level skill imo.

They both traveled.

I'm the old guy in pickup games, constantly calling travel on these young dudes. It's something thats spreading fast and because the NBA only cares about scoring which brings excitement and money, they ignore the fundamentals of the game. So when a young dude travels now, all he says is, they do it in the NBA. That doesn't mean it's not a travel. SMH

That Euro step RJ did in the paint was a travel as well. Just because he took 2 steps nobody is talking about it. But when you stand on one leg for a while, then step with your next leg, then shoot. This has to stop. We might as well play rugby. Just grab the ball and run with it until somebody tackles you or you dunk it.

So true. I felt everything you said. I can't get the real rules out of my head. So even when I am playing I still play by the old rules while everyone else is "legally traveling" all over the court.

There seems to be a twitter comedy video for every situation. How do they even make these kinds of mistakes? It was drilled into my head max 2 steps and dribble, shoot or pass. It is beyond me how a professional player can travel so flagrantly. I am simply flabbergasted.

Since tweets now cut off i'll post the full message since they make some interesting points.

Tweet 1:
"Hughes on swapping Toppin for Donte DiVincenzo:

“New York didn't operate at a pace that played to Toppin's strengths and didn't figure to change, so while the 2020 No. 8 pick's rise makes the Knicks' side of the trade look a little iffy, this version of Toppin was never going to materialize in New York.”

“And if you want to view mid-level exception signee Donte DiVincenzo as a one-to-one replacement, the Knicks look even better.”

“DiVincenzo is posting a higher Box Plus/Minus, three-point percentage and, yes, rebound rate than Toppin is for the Pacers.”"

Tweet 2:
Bleacher Report's Grant Hughes on Obi Toppin:

"His total ineffectiveness as a defender is one of the main reasons Indiana ranks 28th in points allowed per 100 possessions. He's the only Pacers starter with a negative on-court net rating, and all the damage is happening on the defensive end."

"Two second-rounders is a dirt-cheap price for a starter, but Toppin isn't helping Indy's bottom line enough to rate as more than a break-even acquisition."

His defensive issues would not have been as pronounced with us since he plays on the bench but I am interested to see how he does on IND. The good and the bad.

I used to find Twitter such a useful source of a lot of stuff... it has gone to hell really.

I mean, there's a reason Indiana has been rumored in Siakam/OG talks. Obi is a scoring hack, but that's not enough to start if the opposition scores just as much or more on him

Grant Hill said it during last night's TNT telecast. Klay can no longer get that slither of seperation on his J and GSW has significantly cut the number of movement shooting plays for him. Even more worrisome? He's even iffy on the wide open shots now.
