We'll see. It's game 1, not game 41, so at least KP has that going for him...but I still prefer All-NBA bigs.

We usually stink in home openers on national TV so I won't be surprised with a blowout loss but of course I'm hope I'm wrong. Boston is going to be a power house and my early pick to make the Finals. But it's game one and it's just 1 of 82. Not going to overreact either way. We'll know more and have a better idea of what this team is come Thanksgiving.

Price for Celts wasn't so high. Knicks respond with every possible trade with glacial speed or just with " We have our rotation already "

Boston lost a lot more Offseason talent than they acquired because Holiday + an oftentimes injury prone KP isn't good enough to overcome their 4 key/major loses. Who were all BIG PARTS to their recent SUCCESS.

Celtics just lost 3 of their own former 1st Round draft picks + the NBA's 6th Man of the Year who was the heart and soul of their bench unit.

1.) 🏀Marcus Smart.

(Boston's 1st #Round Draft Pick).

Boston drafted Smart 6th overall (2014).

That's 9 years of team chemistry automatically GONE.

They just lost their 3x NBA All-Defensive First Teamer + 2022's NBA #Defensive Player of the Year (not even 30 years old).

MEMPHIS will love #Smart,

2.)🏀Grant Williams (another #Boston 1st round draft pick).

That's another 4 years of team #continuity automatically GONE.

Because Grant Williams averaged 25 minutes per game for Boston throughout the previous 2 years during their Championship (runs)

They just lost an awesome Role Player who's going to help Dallas convey NY's 1st round draft pick.

3.)🏀Robert Williams III (another Boston 1st Round draft pick).

They're losing a 26 year old kid Center who already has All NBA All-Defensive Team honors (2022).

That's another 5 years of Boston cohesion automatically GONE.

Portland now has a lot of talented Big Men and he's one of them now.

4.)🏀 Malcolm Brogdon. Just finished ahead of Immanuel Quickley for 6th man of the Year. Enough said. They just lost the Spark Plug to their entire bench the NBA's 6th Man is now GONE.

🚨Adding Holiday/KP (2) but losing Marcus Smart/Grant Williams/Robert Williams III and Malcolm Brogdon (4) lets me know A). Boston might not even finish as a top 3 seed this year (overrated) and B.) These Boston Celtics are NO LONGER Battle Tested like they once were (together).

And I don't fear KP he's not only injury prone but he's heading into his 9th year and only has a career losing record of 187-215, has only made 1 All-Star game and that was 5-6 years ago (2017) has a career losing playoffs record of 4-6 and even has a career losing record of 2-6 vs. The KNICKS.

I think Knicks team chemistry and player/coach continuity will not only become too much for this brand new Celtics team to overcome tonight but also throughout the entire year because Boston now lacks overall team chemistry and will have to experiment with a lot of different unfamiliar bench rotations due to losing 4 big time pieces to their recent success.
