Knicks · NBA notes 1: Tyrese Maxey, BETTER team player than James Harden (page 1)

76ers Ty Maxey is great story: Likeable player and competes on both sides of the game offensively & defense

I'm glad Knicks passed on likes of Kyrie Irving and never thought James Harden was ever possibility to be a Knick.
Kyrie got his ring .. But isn't going to be in NBA finals anymore.

As far as beary James Harden, Harden is weird he's got all the talent both ends naturally offensively an opportunistic defender.
But Harden is like POISON IVY! Kyrie is POISON IVY Part 2:

Knicks continue to try & getting better we hope to find OUR own kind of Tyrese Maxey

This isn't any knock on Barrett , Randall or anyone complementing talent to #1 Jalen Brunson.
Knicks will find a way to get pieces around Brunson in improved talent type players or young stars whom
may have possibility to play in bright lights NY Madison Square Garden one day soon

Agree that Maxey is better than Harden at this point. Maxey is legit and I honestly think at times Quickley isnt that far off him, so not sure why you're wondering how we find our Maxey. I love the way both those guys play. Its crazy that they were in the same backcourt on a Kentucky team that was top 10, but both wound up getting drafted in the 20s in a draft with a lot of busts in the lottery. I think if they had actually been able to play in the tourney that year, both of their stocks would have risen. Usually you don't see Kentucky players getting underrated that way.

Quickley when he plays with confidence can get buckets from anywhere and can explode for points in bunches. Quickley dropped 30 on the regular in March/April last season and had a 40 pt game. IF given the opportunity and mins I think he is capable of hitting a 50 spot in today's pace game the way Maxey did last night.

agreed & well said. Tyrese since he came into NBA has improved very fast, easy guy to like. Seem like a team player whom makes rest better
like the superstar & stud Center Joel Embiid.

Wish that for our Brunson whom win, lose Or draw hardly takes night off for nagging injuries and makes no excuses.
However I'm enamoured the Brunson turned to be BETTER that I ever imagined may benefit from another STUD allstar. Even if that player is BETTER
than Brunson. Hope somehow Knicks find that. I like RJ, Randall , Quigley. Only RJ and Quigley has upsides being bit tad younger than Julius Randall.

IF Knicks would be in position to trade ? for some stud top NBA player ..it's the missing piece.
Easier said than done. Maybe Anthony Davis? Demar DeRozan Or even Pelicans Zion ? would fit in with Brunson

*stay tuned

Don’t get the look backwards comment with Knick fans. There might be a few but from my experience most knick fans are smarter than normal fans and we think like the FO. Some Knick fans think they are better than the experts.

Your right. Not all fans. Should have been more clear.
"We think like the FO"? I doubt that. Why? We simply don't know what they are thinking. We spitball a lot but none of us are accountable so its a different mindset.
I don't consider the majority of us like typical knick fans thus can't say we smarter than "NORMAL". Normal is non knick fan?
But its all good fun.
Lets consider emotionality of many fans that wanted Randle gone after his off year? Many would have traded him for nothing.
Many also thought Brunson at over 100mil was too much.
and How many of us wanted RJ gone as they lost patience?
Those emotions ran high and would have been bad in hindsight.

Forget the context of the Covid shut down and look at the OBI pick and we all thought we'd do better. In hindsight.
Yes, many did call for Haliburton. And others. But there was limited information that FO had and it was logical to go with national player of the year.
It was wrong.
Funny, Knox might be starting in Detroit and perhaps earn is cred after all.
Many of us said him or Frank would not play again in the league. They do.
We understand knicks mistakes but don't consider other teams. we tent do look at the things they got right.
but we did get Mitch or IQ spot on or better? We can cherry pick our brilliance.
But its all in good fun.
I do read many trade thoughts with no consideration of the actual cost or the money involved, let alone what the money looks like a year or two. Right there is clear evidence we don't think like FO.
I know what I don't know and its is a lot. Makes me a bit smarter than those who think they know more. Just a bit.
Its why I try to put the facts in context of the moment in hindsight and consider the decision without the knowledge that comes after it.

Knicks fans have been accurately pointing out the bad FO moves in real time since Dolan bought the team 20 plus years ago. We've had a lot of practice.

I have no problem with anyone calling out an FO as long as they go into detail. Not just repeating that they suck over and over. I do have a problem with posters reflexively defending the FO, without going into detail.
