I like this guys tweets because he sometimes sends subliminal messages and you have to read between the lines to get what he is really saying.
we look so small out there without RJ and Grimes yet we were still dominant on the boards yet again. Our guards really get after it.
damn we really have ANOTHER B2B tonight?
credit to thibs for being open to a smaller, more modern lineup for stretches. he gets alot of flack in the past for always wanting a rim protector on the court, thats his thing and it works. but he doesnt get enough credit for adapting in other areas.
IQ 16ppg in 26mpg, very efficient, plays both ends. he's going to get $25m+
given 32mpg, he could probably average 20ppg at this point.

Sorry that was the DesaiBot

He may want more than money.
Have said it for a couple of years now, he is another Maxey with the same amount of time with the ball in his hands.

I think Maxey is better, Maxey has been efficient from day 1 and elite from 3. He has a career 48/42/87 shooting line which is pretty insane given his volume and age.
but IQ might not be far behind at this point.
I really like DDs game. He's a great connector which this team really needed with all the dribblers we got. He's a smaller Josh Hart with a 3 ball, great nose for the ball, get player to have around Brunson/RJ/Randle.
IQ is just a damn beast. We got some good players here top to bottom. Liking what I'm seeing.

The better the ball movement, the better DDV plays. More like what he had with GS.
DDV is a natural shooter, not afraid to shoot. Hart can be hesitant from out there. Even Grimes sometimes seems unsure about his shots, but there is no hesitation from DDV.
Who is the odd man out? Really hard choices to make.

Pound for pound, inch for inch - best/toughest defender in league

He scares me with the ball when he decides to dribble - lol - same with Donte

Why does there have to be an odd man out right now? Everything is fine atm. And of course their plan is still the big trade eventually.
VDesai wrote:Why is Randle shooting techs
Because he is an idiot and our coach encourages it.
Once again Julius puts up volume #s but 20% from 3, 50% from FT (including shooting a ****ing T with Brunson/IQ on floor), 6 TO’s and 18 points on (22 shots) - I won’t mention the 2 or 3 times he refused to guard his match-up.
Other than above he played with force and took Kuzma’s heart - lol.

He’s hard to like and easy to hate and his mustache doesn’t help matters. He really seems miserable.
We have so many guys who can slide around and seamlessly fit the starters/bench. Thibs is also staggering lineups MUCH more than he has in years past so guys are all comfortable playing with each other, and when a guy like DD has to step into the starting lineup he fits like a glove, or when IQ closes at the 2 with the starters he fits like a glove. A few years ago we ran hockey units. Now it's completely staggered and have Randle playing with the bench quite a bit. This team is looking good and also a more conventional recipe than we had last year, which we relied upon being a top 3 offensive team while being a bottom shooting team, and a mediocre defensive team.
Being a top 5 defensive team is what this team should be with Thibs, Mitch/Isiah, a slow pace and good wing defenders all over the court. If we can crack the top 10 on offense and remain a top 5 defense this is a really damn good team fundamentally. We are climbing fast on offense - ranked 12th now.

somethings gotta give sooner rather than later, I wouldn't want to risk alienating IQ. He should be playing more than 25mpg, cutting his minutes this year isn't a good look. And thats with everyone taking a minutes cut and RJ and Grimes having been out. RJ has missed almost half the games and the minutes still havent been there for IQ.
Every team wants to be fully healthy but the minutes are just too tight when we are. and how can these guys find rhythm is the other worry.
In 3 games we play Miami at the Garden for our first home in-season tournament game. That's gonna be a friggen banger.
i think it was foolish not to extend IQ, unless he just wanted something crazy. but he's looking like he can be an efficient 20/5/5 two way player who can play and defend multiple positions. we cant lose that, thats a huge piece in todays game.

I don't think anyone is worrying about this right now. IQ's minutes have been pretty steady all year. Hart and DD are getting their mins cut more than him when everyone returns.
