Martin how old are you ??? You judging an acquisition for the Heat after a week ? Let's revisit at the end of the season

Small sample size!

And it’s not how old you are but how high you are

Your logic seems erratic so I assume your pupils are dilated

Precious gets hammered going strong to the hoop, leads to a break and 1, 5 point swing. When does the respect come? They shouldn't have to win a ring to get it. They've earned it.

The facts are, we play who is scheduled and the Knicks just smashed the 2 teams who were in the Finals in back to back games by 54 points. The NBA is on notice, from Jalen to the Knicks full team, they are a for real ECF contender.

NYStateOfMind wrote:Some people are overhyping this add and devaluing this solid win. Rozier was available so cheap for a reason, he is a negative net player. I didn't want him on this team and good to great coaching will only mask his problems, not fix them. He is -135 in January. Let the heat have him, lol.

I expected to win this game by about 20 points, minus some rude taken & made shots taken by the Heat in the last 30 seconds, they basically did that. Since the OG trade and before tonight's game, so January 1st, team net ratings are Knicks +15 Heat -7, 22 pt. difference. Gelling alone shouldn't fix that gap and we still may make a move or 2.

Lets go Knicks, F the Heat!

Not really. Its more about wanting a better test of how far this team can go as constructed. Denver was gassed. Heat had Rozier for 4 games. Lets see how we do (when Randle gets back) vs. teams who are relatively fresh, and on a roll. Im looking forward to it.

Learn the difference between explaining and making excuses We won, nothing to excuse. Nothing to call the refs out for.

Heat were on a five game losing streak, and a new player to work into the rotation. I wouldnt call the last two games our biggest challenge of the season, those games are ahead of us.

2.
a. To apologize for (oneself) for an act that could cause offense: She excused herself for being late.
b. To explain (a fault or offense) in the hope of being forgiven or understood; try to justify: He arrived late and excused his tardiness by blaming it on the traffic. See Synonyms at forgive.

Professor, I'm still confused between the difference of explaining a loss vs. making an excuse.

NYStateOfMind @ 1/27/2024 7:53 PM
Excuse me? Don't talk down to me. A few people suggested this isn't the Heat team we will face in the playoffs, that is exactly devaluing this win. If the Heat have another gear, so will the Knicks and that is before NY has any added gelling, additional moves, injuries, injury returns, and rotations tightening up.

If you don't think beating the champs regardless of their road trip and then a hungry to right the ship Heat team that never wants to lose to NY weren't tests, then maybe you need to learn what a test is. Professional NBA analysts said this 2 game stretch was a test, hinting the 10-2 record before these 2 games hadn't proven much than a slightly improved team with depth issues.

I never stated this was out biggest challenge, nice try to back your narrative or poor defense of others' comments. How about you let them speak for themselves. Maybe self reflect instead of trying to put people's opinions down with you arrogant teaching moment you thought you had. Next time come with respect.

Didnt say the Knicks played poorly. That would have been condescending.

I didn’t see the game. Were iHart’s limited minutes due to him coming back from injury or did he aggravate something?

Knicks are getting that extra gear of wanting to win every damn game — or so it seems

gradyandrew @ 1/27/2024 8:14 PM
1 Game behind the Sixers for number 3 in the East!
NYStateOfMind @ 1/27/2024 8:20 PM
No, condescending was stating I have to learn the difference between things, when a fact based counterpoint would have sufficed on the topic at hand, which wasn't about me. Lets just move along.

UPDATE: A shot clock malfunction delayed the start of the second half. When the game finally resumed, Hartenstein seemed to tweak his ankle again, and Bam Adebayo went at him two for back-to-back flushes.

I didn't see anything to be concerned about, maybe just caution easing him back in, how aggressive Bam was playing, and how well Precious was doing on the boards.

I didn’t see the great impact form Rozier today and when Heat go with Rozier/Hero backcourt Brunson is just going to pick his poison and feast

And they may have given up an unprotected pick for him.

I’ll add - why can you call it a great pick up already but Martin can’t point out the crap stats so far?

Brunson is so freaking good man! Absolutely torched Butler and Rozier! Spoelstra had no answers. Bench played well too. And OGA keeps showing his skills offensively every game. He is no Ntilikina. OGA has some talent and can score some.

Can't believe we beat the two finals teams back to back and in convincing fashion!
