Trump still faces 91 Felony charges in 4 different criminal cases. Pretty much any other candidate would have their chances sunk at being President with just one criminal charge.

As hard as you might try....being rich has no political persuasion. Regardless of party affilliation, the rich often take advantage of situations which lead to adverse impact to the middle class or poor.

I wouldn't say zero background. It was a civil, not criminally trial. That's why Hofstra's first two analogies didn't sit right with me- prostitution and speeding are criminal offenses. My question was if the state has the right to file in a civil suit. I respect your knowledge and that of others in this forum. And yes, I'm probably less informed than a lot of people here and maybe misguided. That's why I ask.

Trump did it. Trump knew he did it, his supporters knew he did it, and his haters knew he did it. The real issue is should he has been prosecuted. I personally don’t think he should have been but it is what it is. He has a real chance of being re-elected, which concerns me because if you thought he was unhinged before, wait until his second act when he will have no constraints. I am not saying everything he did was bad, but what I don’t like about him is that he has lead a movement to divide this country more than it ever has been. If Trump could change to a tone of unity, he would be decent for the country because he is somewhat of an outside the box thinker. But that will never happen and he does not have a full grasp of international politics or long-range strategic planning. The only thing he really brings is someone who is willing admit that the system is rigged. The bottomline with all of this is to keep chasing the American dream and hope these fools do not implode the country.

The reason Trump's support strengthens with every indictment is because the majority of Americans see exactly what is happening here. They trying to put him in prison for the rest of his life not because his egregious crimes but because they don't want him to be president again. The man has been in the public spotlight for 5 decades and never faced a charge, then all of a sudden gets a tsunami of charges once he declares he's running again. Every single one of these cases has been some never-used fringe political theory (the Stormy case or the RICO case for challenging an election) or something that everyone in Trump's shoes does but never gets charged for (the classified docs and embellishing your net worth for preferable loans). The majority of the country does not find any of these charges to be warranted or credible. The left will laugh it off as a bunch of bible thumping rednecks but they are just showing they have never left their metropolitan bubbles, Trump's support has only widened and is getting stronger across the board. That's no different than the right saying all the remaining Biden/Harris supporters are blue haired antifa hippies or entitled college kids still living in their parents basement. This is why no one takes the indictments seriously and his popularity gets stronger each time, the people trying to get Trump out for 7 years have lost all credibility at this point.

Biden literally hired 87K IRS agents like his first day on the job and is trying to put his opponent, who has more support than him by basically every poll or measure right now, in prison for the rest of his life on laughable charges so he can't win the election.

In terms of the civil fraud case, I have not heard one credible analyst say this will hold up on appeal. I think everyone knows it will at a minimum get slashed in half or more. But they carefully designed it so he will have to put the money in escrow while he waits for appeal because all they really want is to make him pay for being a political enemy.
