Knicks · Remember the days when rival GM's would look at our roster and say "You've Got Nothing We Want"... (page 1)

...Well rival GM's can suck it! We have steadily upgraded the talent at every position.

and no bad contracts thus far in t his regime.

Rival GM's? Hell, our fans look silly given the critique of our moves and how they turned out!
Not everything turns to gold and every contract will pan out, but our FO has defied logic and keeps on shining!
Does Thibs want his extension early? if not, he cool with riding it out? Would that be by design or a he ready to "consult"? Maybe we give him super high paying extensions so he always has a buffer year? Hand shake the in the tip 25% pay scale based on winning %?
Is Leon happy running the ship? This what and where he wants to be? or he want an equity stake with non corp. owner??
We are respectable and fans should be happy to be in conversations.

Let me give this a twist. Assume there is an expansion draft coming. Which 8 players are you protecting? Meaning which player do you have to protect cause an expansion GM would want them?

1) Brunson
2) Anunoby (if he re-signs)
3) Randle
4) Robinson
5) DDV
6) jHart
7) iHart (if re-signs)
8) Precious (if he re-signs)

McBride gets stolen for nothing. Sims is gone. Burks? Bogs?

Point being that they actually have to continue consolidating assets with the spectre of needing to remain 8 deep or you lose a valued role player. This is where pairing some players and picks for a bigger name player makes sense.

That’s the 8. Although #8 is real close between deuce and Achiuwa. Knicks have 9 really good players under the age of 30.

Playing pretend here, but Im thinking if its one team, do they want Precious as there might be others. Deuce might be more valuable to us.

I would love to see this group healthy. Gives us a chance to see if they could actually win it all (when healthy).

The timing of these injuries could be a blessing in disguise. Our roll players now have confidence like starters. Just look how far deuce has come. Precious was a throw in end off the bench trade chip. Both harts were roll players turned starters. Brunson a roll player off the bench, now a franchise caliber player. Can’t say enough about Randle and how much his game, maturity and leadership has grown.

But OG is my new Deuce. What I say about 2 way defensive players. I love them. I believe they are always underrated, especially in this offensive 3pt shooting era. And OG is sitting at the top of that 2 way list to me. Humble and can score without over dribbling or over shooting. That’s rare plus his defensive reach is crazy. Guarding 1-5

I hate to say it and i don’t mean this in a bad way. But Thibs might be the weakest link and he’s way exceed my expectations. So that should tell you how I feel about this team (when healthy).

We can compete with any team in the NBA.

If Knicks wanted to "tear it down" and liquidate their players for assets just imagine what they would get for guys like Hart, DDV, iHart, OG, Precious etc. They have some guys every contending team would LOVE to have.

I didn't even think of it this way. We have a roster full of high quality role players. We really only have 3 players that were considered starters. Mitch, Randle and OG. Brunson has surpassed that and is becoming a super star if he can sustain this level of play next season and beyond.

If we trade for a star, we are going to have to make a tough call on matching players going out. Clearly it would start with salary filler Bogs, but 1 or 2 of our role players would be in the discussion. We no longer have Grimes to include as a quality young player. That ship has sailed

OG is also showing signs of being aggressive on offense. Do not be surprised if we see another level of offense unlocked under Thibs here... but either man I agree with you. If our 9 guys are healthy we can hang with anyone for 7 games
