He’s already one of the best players in franchise history…
Remember when Phil Jackson talked about our endless failed pursuit of a star point guard?
Geez, Brunson is really our unicorn

Mcadoo and King were not here very long.

The fact that Brunson is 2nd in the NBA in Field Goal attempts, but 14th in FT attempts when 2/3 or more of his shots are in the painted area is a travesty. He could be averaging over 30 ppg if he got calls at the rate of Shai/Luka/Butler/Derozan. The way he works for baskets with his fakes and agressiveness- you know he deserves those calls as much as those other guys.

To be fair.....while he might deserve more the NBA is not calling things as they were and those other guys had to elevate their credit before they got their "fair share". Derozon got his over a long career and with rule changes two years ago making it a bit harder for guys like IQ, Trae Young, and others to create the contact and get the call. He does get hit a lot to which I don't deny. He is super strong which keeps him sturdy and able to finish very well. He falls down a lot and he does make his case often. Seems he complains more now and perhaps his coaches want him to plead his insistence to be taken more seriously?

Today I needed to check where Brunson stood on potential all-NBA spots. I see there are 2 guards ahead of him - SGA and Doncic. Brunson has been part of 73 games, albeit the one game where he bonked his knee and less than 1 minute (which cranked down his counting stats across the board).
I think he's deeply entrenched on All-NBA 2nd team. I think his biggest competitors for second team are Maxey, Jalen Brown, Curry, and Lillard.

They don't Top 15 players regardless by position. I think he is firmly ensconced there. Embiid and DM won't make the 65 game limit.

Brunson easily moving into the max extension territory?

Oh wow... I forgot that the rule changes go beyond the 65 game (~80%) minimum played - it's also positionless.
In that case I think Brunson indeed has a legit shot at 1st team. I could see him alongside Jokic, SGA, Doncic, Tatum.

He's not only 1A he's one of the 5 or 10 best 1A's in the NBA so he's like 1AAA.
Obviously I/we have a bias, but this guy is a true fortune changer. Not just an amazing scorer, leader, playmaker. Too bad SGA made that gamewinner and Brunson didn't answer as that would've changed the national narrative a bit.

Yeah, he is right on that cusp. I think next year will open the flood gates.
