Quick glance says 50 wins is very achievable. Personally I don’t care much about seeding other than wanting to avoid the play in. Very unlikely to meet the Celtics in the first round and everyone else is someone you need to beat to get to them. Main desire is how healthy can the team be.

I would really like to take those two games in Boston and Milwaukee more than anything (actually, throw Miami in there too). It's great being so dominant against the sub .500 teams, but some extra confidence going into the playoffs would go a long way.

Here's how I'm guessint it plays out

1 Wed Mar 27 2024 Toronto Raptors - win
2 Fri Mar 29 2024 San Antonio Spurs - win
3 Sun Mar 31 2024 Oklahoma City Thunder - loss unless Anunoby comes back
4 Tue Apr 2 2024 Miami Heat - god damn I hope this is a win, but could easily be a loss
5 Thu Apr 4 2024 Sacramento Kings - loss - I don't feel good about beating them a 2nd time
6 Fri Apr 5 2024 Chicago Bulls - Win
7 Sun Apr 7 2024 Milwaukee Bucks - loss
8 Tue Apr 9 2024 Chicago Bulls - win
9 Thu Apr 11 2024 Boston Celtics - win (Boston will have locked up the no.1 seed - maybe they want to play spoiler but that would be a dangerous game to play and no real incentive)
10 Fri Apr 12 2024 Brooklyn Nets - win
11 Sun Apr 14 2024 Chicago Bulls - loss (Beating them 3 times gonna be tough and by the last game maybe seeding is locked)

There isn't a lot of margin for error. If it plays as the above we just get there with a win vs. Miami. I thinking beating the Bulls 3 times is hard. I think the Thunder, Heat, Kings, Bucks games are tough and I hope we win 1-2. Celtics late I'm hoping they are resting everyone.

Gut feeling we'll end up 5th and play Orlando. I'll take it!
fishmike @ 3/27/2024 12:54 PM
its weird... while some teams may be nursing or limiting players we have an oddly different vibe. Even though the Knicks are short handed you are dealing with a few things. A coach who wants to win every game, a handful of players that only have 1 speed (full) and another handful of guys who still trying to earn the coach's trust and playoff rotation minutes. McBride is the first guy that comes to mind. He's dying to lock down anyone he can and drop 30 on you for 48 minutes. Bogs, Burks, Precious... all these guys wanna play. I expect big efforts every night and a lot of teams just arent ready for that.

Also Thibs has a plan for every team and every guy. We are always ready. We always play hard. You can catch us on a shit shooting night and hope for that.

Nalod @ 3/27/2024 2:19 PM
If no Randle, Bogs could be the X-factor in how far we go.
He looked like he was having neck pain Vs. Pistons. He hit his shots. He looked good.
Defense? He has to play to some level of it for Thibs if he wants to be major factor.
I often think players regress offensively as when they get here as it taxes the effort on defense both mentally and physically.
They either rise to the occasion or not. OG game is perfect for this. Precious game was dialed back on offense and he has excelled playing to his strengths.
Cam Reddish is an example of one who did not respond as hoped.
We saw IQ at times regress then surge when things became automatic. RJ had slumps but the kid never fell off the rotation and often bounced back.
Currently Bogs might be going thru this. Burks? Not sure its father time, nagging injuries, or just the Thibian Demands.
I doubt Thibs lets his foot off the gas the rest of the way.
VDesai @ 3/27/2024 2:30 PM
Raptors tonight are so short handed that even with a massive trap game vibe it would be hard to foresee a loss.

Spurs on Friday is a dangerous game. Young team, unicorn player, they can lay stinkers but are often competetive and have beaten some good teams. Wemby/Keldon are banged up at the moment, lets see if they get healthy by Fri.

to get to 50 there's no room for error on these games vs. teams below .500

DLeethal @ 3/28/2024 8:38 AM
I feel the new starting lineup has elevated this team, we are hotter than everyone else right now. The schedules are pretty much a wash in my eyes. I think Boston will be resting guys by the time we play them. Don't really care about 50 wins but I think we can hold serve on the 3rd seed.
MaTT4281 @ 3/28/2024 8:48 AM
Wasn't overly concerned between 3, 4, and 5 seeds. I like our chances in the first round in any of those scenarios.

But now we're in arms reach of #2 (2 games) - and more importantly, home court advantage in the second round. That head to head vs. Milwaukee becomes all the more important.

Same, going to be tough to catch #2 though, would require MIL to play under .500 ball and Knicks to go like 7-3. We play them once which is a huge. As much as I like the ORL matchup I think I'd take #3 and a matchup vs Indy or MIA in order to avoid BOS until round 3 and try to make a legit ECF push.

Embiid looming to return. That could be scary for a high seed to get that!

Could be Boston/Philly first round. If the Sixers were at full strength then one roadblock would be eliminated then and there. Of course bring on whomever, that’s the only path for the Knicks.

looks very likely Mia/Phili are going to be 7/8... I would much rather have Cle/Indy/Orl in the first round than Mia/Phili+Embiid.

However the scenario where we are 3 and then Bos/Mil have to deal with those two in the first round is great for the Knicks. Gonna be a wild postseason.

SupremeCommander @ 3/28/2024 1:02 PM
what are the chances we make #2? I would love for that to be possible. I think even just chasing that would be great heading into the playoffs
