Thibs knows what he’s doing

Precious is not in the dog house. Thibs will use him when he thinks situation is right. Would i have played Precious. Absolutely. But if i was calling the shots we’d have 30 wins

this was a grueling series and we were very close to losing G2 and last night, series could have easily gone either way, especially if Embiid was a bit healthier.

Playing BOS in the 2nd round with KP out would have been a great opportunity.

IND got a cakewalk of a series by being 6th.

not sure why you keep harping on it though, this is where we are now and no one's complaining about reg season stuff anymore.

Im not harping but i do find these double down responses amusing

Yes let’s tank so we could play Boston in the second round (crystal ball says KP will get hurt in first round)

Dumb idea to hope that Orlando (who has played celts tough all year) or Clevland will either beat Celts or wear them down.

And if we’re going to talk about harping, look at your own post where you’re still worrying/questioning OG trade

Just admit you flubbed

Any suggestion to tank and give up home court advantage in an NBA series is shortsighted.
We now have the tram some wanted to tank for. Going to be a tough series and home court will help.

Agreed. It’s not just the extra game. It’s being home for game 1 to hopefully win and put pressure and of course game 7 at home is huge. Then there’s the mental aspect where Thibs is all in, and wants his guys to get addicted to winning

HofstraBBall @ 5/3/2024 8:13 AM
Great bounce back win.
This team is full of fighters and warriors.
Our COY did not panic. Made adjustments, including getting Donte going early.
For all the fans saying how bad Donte is on defense, he shut down Maxey and played all 48.
JHart is the new John Starks.
Watching Sixers play it reminds me of Knicks 2023. 2 Starters with 0 points?
OG going strong to hoop early was great to see.

Monday morning QBs go back in their hole.

Next up, hated Pacer franchise.

So glad we were able to pull it out, Jhart, these guys are just winners. I was worried about what we gave up in the OG trade, but OG aside, Jhart and Deuce help us win more than RJ & IQ did. and that's pretty incredible.

We missed FT, but some credit to Philly. These last two games they would not quit till the buzzer. These Knicks dont either. They never get down on themselves. I think a lot of credit to Brunson as an individual leader setting the tone for these guys.

absolutely, neither team quit this entire series.

went from up 22 to down 10, 32 point swing in just over 1 quarter, wild. PHI looked like they were gonna run away with it that 3rd quarter and we came back and eventually went back up 8 again, another 18 point swing.

last game we went 18-2 to start the 2nd quarter and again PHI came right back.

Wild series. You could see just how grueling it was on both teams.

i literally spoke in PAST tense, WAS WORRIED.

DDV gave us the game we needed from him. Especially with Deuce having an off night. And OG was huge. Nice series for him, 15ppg on 51%. Some big defensive plays, but I think we'll see him have a bigger defensive impact against IND and Siakam and even Turner. Embidd and Maxey weren't ideal defensive assignments for him.
nycericanguy @ 5/3/2024 8:45 AM
we match up very well against IND IMO.

Deuce on Hali and OG on Siakam.

and Turner will have his hands full with our bigs.

It's a series where Precious could be valuable, and I hope he plays because we can't just keep playing a 7 man rotation. we cant afford even 1 more single injury at this point.

This should be going to a thrilling Game 7. I’m still not over that ref robbery in Game 2. Fuck.

Two happiest days in my life will be when I finally have my own child and when Tobias get tf off this team

knicks players and fans are the most insufferable obnoxious cunts i’ve ever seen. can’t wait for the pacers to curb stomp that entire fucking city. fucking sore winners and sore losers. fuck all of them. completely undeserved series victory

I’m in disbelief three trash ass franchises like the thunder, knicks, and timberwolves have a better chance at winning a ring than we do in a decade

Fucking absurd. What an absolute joke. Maybe get a single offensive rebound..... My GOD.

Remember when anunoby missed that uncontested dunk? Thay was awesome.

All because of a Josh hart three. Fuck my life man

I hate that ginger fuck

You can see that they learned it was literally like a replay and they made the right decisions. Watching Deuce asking if he should foul....beautiful. That is why Thibs trusts him to be in in the final seconds of a game like that.

Our boys learning, it's a beautiful thing to watch

This is why we talk about post-season experience.

Brunson rarely makes the same mistake over and over. He might learn and adjust as well as any player in the league. Teams started doubling him months ago and he's like been averaging 35 and 10 for weeks now. This kid is brilliant.

TRUTH

And yet I keep expecting more lol

This hits nice

Whenever someone says Brunson did the Trae Young draw foul thing show them this. There is a difference.

In the middle of this series, my disdain for the 76ers rose to new heights. Embiid is dirty no doubt. But over the last two games, I started to see the basketball player in him. He really is an incredible shooter and a damned good basketball player when he is completely engaged. And Maxey had started to give me Reggie Miller vibes. Also a great player and seems to have a great attitude. Total boss.

Still don't like Embiid, but I admit I might only be 95% opposed to him being a Knick now. He would never survive Thibs (I have to play defense?!) though.

Back to reality. I felt a few things about that game.

1) Thankfully Thibs fixed his game 5 mistake and fouled them on the inbound at the end. 10 seconds seemed a bit early, I'd have liked to see them foul on the other end of a downcourt pass but perhaps that was too risky.

2) I felt like there were quite a few moments where the Knicks had a lane to the layup but pulled back and passed back out to the perimeter. Anyone else see that?

3) OG sealed himself into Knicks lore with that dunk.

4) Free Throw practice please. We ended up shooting 75% I think, but it felt like the last two games were closer than they should have been because of missed FTs down the stretch. Meanwhile, PHI missing one all night. My gawd!

5) I hated Thibs burning starters all season long. Hated it. But I have to admit, it paid off in this series. Philly couldn't match up with us past their top-2 (maybe Hield also for a few scary minutes) and down the stretch when Embiid gets tired, it was a difference maker. I just hope it doesn't backfire later on.

6) If MIB was a real movie, Josh Hart would be my #1 vote among NBA players for alien in disguise. He even likes sugar an awful lot.
