Dayum. Really looks like it will be a 7 man rotation now. Grateful we have Precious on deck. I know there's a clamor for them, but barring blow outs which don't seem to be in the cards, I don't see Alec or Shake getting off the bench. Maybe for good reason.
Tough break but at least he was the least important of the guys getting minutes left. Precious is available and I think going forward against Indiana and Boston, maybe he's the better option.
Knicks don't make it past Embiid without Robinson. Something to keep in mind for the future. I wouldn't look into trading Robinson because of that.
I'm getting strong 1999 vibes here where seemingly guys went down after every game but the team kept on finding ways to win and advance.

The Alec I knew was about that high pressure playoff life. I wouldn't be surprised if this version had one solid game in him. Shake can pressure the rim, which is something this team forgets to do while Hart and JB are resting. This guy's gotta rest at some point, whether it's by defensive lapses or scrub slopping a few here and there.

I’m all for seeing it happen btw particularly Burks. But guessing Thibs has his reasons whether we like or understand them or not.
We like an army that keeps going forward with fewer and fewer.
At some point its gonna be over. This does not feel like a championship run. Too much grinding.
Slam me for not believing. Not like I won't be rooting like hell for them to beat Indy. I think they can.
If not its not like they lose from lack of effort or grit.
Hate that Mitch is now toast. Teams need the good fortune of healthy players. Shit happens.

I don’t think even the biggest homers thinks we can take Boston. It would be a complete Cinderella story if that happens.
Going to be down to a 4 man rotation for the ECF...
Fuck Embiid.

I blame that POS Embiid!
Achiuwa has stepped up every time he's been given an opportunity and I have no doubt he will do it again and he might be a better match up against these Hicks. But I feel bad for Mitch!

Can we take Indy? Precious should be ok vs Isiah Jackson who killed us when Miles was out. Jalen smith still gets minutes also.
We are playing guys big minutes and we wearing down. Im not second guessing Thibs. He extracts a lot from his teams. Thats how we roll.

I haven't seen any evidence that we are wearing down. Mitch going out with this injury is more on Embiid's dirty play and him returning from surgery and being injury prone. Mitch didn't even play a lot of minutes. Same with Bogey - flukey injury. Maybe we will wear down but I haven't seen anything that says we will. Especially Josh Hart. He's the most energized and has played with the highest motor in the 4th. And Brunson has owned the 4th quarter too.

We will be massive underdogs. I don’t doubt this team but realistically speaking it’s a long shot. That said it was a long shot for Miami to beat them last year as well.
Mitch remains a great asset. We owe him $27mm the next two years. That's barely north of MLE money now and while this year was tough he can do some incredibly impactful things on both sides of the ball and we have seen that.
Knicks have some draft options. Might might sense start working on some big man prospects as well while we have Mitch locked up at a reasonable rate for a couple years

As long we have the Villanova Trio, OGA and a Center I feel we can take on anybody.
that leg is compromised.
Focus now (if it wasn't already) is to look at big men in this upcoming draft and reupping Precious.
Robinson can't be looked at as an NBA starter any longer...or even depended on to be able to play a full season.

Knicks need to plan to match up with Embiid. They will be back and better next year with all of their cap space to add a team around Maxey and Embiid. So from that perspective Mitch is really important to keep around. The flip side of that is that he is always injured and we have a guy in Precious who is young, able bodied, and a really good backup C in his own right, and it'll be tough to convince him to stay as 3rd string big. If you can keep all 3 great, but if it comes down to Precious vs Mitch and Precious only willing to resign for an everynight backup role, it becomes a real question.

Oh yes we can!
I think there are two paths - you keep Mitch and draft a PF/C to replace Precious and he walks. Or you keep Precious and work to trade Mitch - basically like we did when we signed DDV we knew the writing the was gonna be on the wall for some of our guard depth.

You’re right it’s got to be one or the other. Mitch is just so tough to rely on. Having Achiuwa comes in so handy for that. Either way I expect only Mitch or Achiuwa to be back as a backup to Hartenstein and us to draft a big man along with bringing back Sims for depth.
