Centers will have zero chance if Deuce, Josh and Donte are traffic cones on the perimeter —- they are getting torched.

The D implosion is really puzzling and the unforced TO’s killer.

Awful on covering the three. Haven't seen them leave so many wide open shots in a single stretch like this

JUST BRUTAL D IN 1ST HALF.

Half right. Defending Jalen takes energy. That's energy taken away from a given players offense. And Jalen's scoring can mask some defensive mistakes on the other end.

However, even without JB you can't give up 73 points and expect to win any game with this team.

yea we are losing because of defense which ironically should be better with Deuce instead of Brunson.

but we have no shot if this is a serious injury.

We have a shot for 1 game and if we can do that they have to take 4 of 5.

Has foot been confirmed?

That sounds ominous.

Pacers have an obvious trap door open and Knicks are willingly walking right into it. Stop trying to push tempo against these guys. You will get easy buckets and then will get a bunch more. Hart will get some C2C layups and they will get a ton of transition 3s. No idea why we are doing this crap again. That’s why the defense is so bad, we are playing a full court transition game we have no chance of winning.

I am putting the game on mute second half

Been MUTE from the opening tap Game 1 — hard to take ANY of these ESPN/TNT trolls.

joec32033 @ 5/8/2024 9:19 PM
They focused on Haliburton at the half and his explosion of 22 points. Anunoby's 22 points were limited to a passing mention by Shaq, who said its nice, but he needs to do other things.
NYStateOfMind @ 5/8/2024 9:19 PM
I can't hate on Josh, even if he has all 5 team TOs. But he is human and I said I wanted to avoid teams with pace like Indy and Orlando, but we got Indy and fatigue is going to set in eventually. I think they are tired and without JB to bail them out, it doesn't look good. Hopefully, it is just this game, and we either put up a fight or just let it go. But with this team and injuries, hard to think this will have a positive short-term result.

LivingLegend wrote:Brutal D collectively by Josh, Deuce and Donte —- guys blowing by all over and wide open.

Josh playing zero D - hard to blame him with effort all over but Deuce really getting lit up and Donte just leaving guys or stopping in mid rotation.

Pacers had guys standing around reading the inflation range on the ball while preparing to shoot WIDE OPEN 3’S or mid-ranges while everyone stands in the paint.

We need to wake the hell up - no excuse defensively without Brunson.

Josh turning ball over ALL UNFORCED —- Yuck.

This would be disgusting way to lose but Pacers seem to want to let us back in if we can string 3 or 4 stops.

Positive vibes only

DLeethal @ 5/8/2024 9:20 PM
Knicks need to make this second half ugly AF. I’d sit Brunson unless it’s completely no worry. We can win in Indy - it’s a long series.
NYStateOfMind @ 5/8/2024 9:20 PM
Ask Robinson.

We can't afford to have both Brunson and iHart off the court at the same time. Offense just does not flow. They tried running the ball through Precious at the top of the key, in the iHart role. Just too much to overcome.

Kudos to Indy for setting a tone early with their full court pressure. But we need someone in addition to OG to get hot and actually create some shots.

NYKBocker @ 5/8/2024 9:21 PM
We winning this thing. OG dropping a 40.
VDesai @ 5/8/2024 9:22 PM
Jalen warming up

The floor kind of tilts in Pacers favor without him as we are more out of position but somewhere we have lost all defensive principals—- hard to believe with Thibs team.

To top it off we have guys who can defend - not like Jalen, Julius, Bogey or half man half limp Mitch would improve D.

MaTT4281 @ 5/8/2024 9:22 PM
Breath?

We are getting dribbled by left/right in ALL settings half or full —- if we can fix that we can play and me per I think we still need to push pace for easy buckets with no Jalen.

I would have sat Josh some in 1st half - he was that bad on D and with TO’s.

DLeethal @ 5/8/2024 9:25 PM
Hart pushing tempo off makes is gonna drive me through a wall

YES - Josh is doing everything I get it but he has to wake up on D.
