There is NO WAY on Earth that 1 week ago I or any of you other numbskulls could have predicted that our own Alec Burks, our virtual ELEVENTH MAN would rise to the call of NEXT FUCKING MAN UP and contribute in the way he has this series. Why would you say that no one could have expected Burks to be a positive off the bench ? He is a seasoned vet with some real positives. Other teams always have a vet that has big games against us. It's finally time for one of our vets to be taken out of moth balls to play great. Burks was trying to do too much before. He has made it simple and not doing too much.

But I distinctly remember many posts in other threads containing "corpse of" or "done", and "Alec Burks" in the same sentence.
However, the point of my post above is just how proud I am of this team and Thibs coaching that he can keep finding players to step up on the big stage. Look how deep we are running:
Presumed Starters:
1. JB
2. DDV
3. OG - *out*
4. Randle - *out*
5. Mitch - *out*
Original Bench, some now starters
6. iHart - excelling as sub starter, probably replaced Mitch in SL
7. jHart - excelling as sub starter
8. Bogs - *out*
9. Deuce - quality minutes as parttime starter/sub
10.Precious - excelling as bench player
11.Burks - just stepped up big time
The only other NBA player left on the roster is Shake (twelfth man)
I'll admit I thought Burks was a corpse ready to be buried. I have always been a Burks fan and he was shooting 40% from 3 when he came over here and had a pretty hot run of games after a bad start in Dec/Jan. But when he got here it looked like forgot how to play. Knicks were playing a team game, and Burks was doing something else. Playing weird one on one, taking crazy shots, not making anything, missing FT. He looked useless. Than the 45 seconds he played in Game 2 literally couldn't have been worse. I was ready to write him off. But we still needed him and he still had the coaches trust and now he's playing more like guy we remember from his first stint. Good 3 pt shooter, can get his own buckets, plays hard on the defensive side and makes rotations. Good secondary ballhandler (not a PG!). Alec is a true, quiet professional that does his job.
