End the “woke” agenda (deleting terms like “sexual orientation and gender identity,” “diversity,” “equity,” and more)
Conflates pornography with transgenderism and that it must be outlawed
How to fire “unfireable” federal bureaucrats (Bureaucrats of DHS, ED, DOJ, EPA, etc.) to rid left-wing ideas
“At its very heart, environmental extremism is decidedly anti-human.”

Promotes “the dynamic genius of free enterprise” over the “elite-directed socialism”

Seems like this is a far cry from rounding up all the libs.

Keep telling yourself that. But then again you are in China so probably fully conditioned to accepting totalitarianism? Ending diversity, putting transgenders in jail, firing all federal employees simply because of their political affiliation. Eliminating diversity. 180 day agenda for all federal employees to "comply". Perhaps you need to learn to read between the lines of what is really being said.

Probably more relevant is that I have lived in China since shortly after 9/11 and so I imagine an American political culture where ideas and policies are debated and not one where ad hominem attacks are a legitimate argument. If that's your best shot, then it's pretty easy to see why the candidate with the more acerbic attacks is leading in the polls.

gradyandrew, you are really out of touch.

I am as crass as the next regarding this very topic but we can do better. Keep that one to yourself.

Probably true.

Anyway, I think we are all friends here. Gustavballer kind of ticked me off in the past and I was probably too hard on him at times. Even PhilC and Nalod have seemed to cool off towards each other.

My feeling is that as bad as a second Trump term might be, I don't think it will end up with people getting round up and being sent to reeducation camps. It's difficult to believe that people are.afraid to talk with coworkers because they see themselves ending up in the Gulag. Especially without even having a great network of high speed rails to take the edge off of that possibility.

I'd go as far as saying that a second Trump term would pivot world politics - and particularly for the United States - in utterly the wrong direction for the health of everyone.

It's been bending that way for a while now, since the 80's.

Why do you think a second term will be much different than the first?

Because I paid attention to what Trump was doing at the ending of his Presidency when he appointed folks who were unqualified to positions in places like the Pentagon and other places in government to support his goal to remain in power despite the election results. His attempt to have officials in various States and his vice President to eliminate the results naming Biden as President. Then supporting a insurrection to eliminate enemies like Dems on the Hill and to kill Pence. You might not have noticed that being in China. Now he has his loyalists with years of perfecting their strategies going forward. When someone tells you they are going to be a tyrant I believe em

I have had friends of the family and known many people who lived thru right wing governments in El Salvador Chile, Argentina, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic as well as left wing governments in Cuba and they all expressed the hatred and madness of the rank and file supporters of the party. Judging from what I have observed from MAGA followers I see that type of fervor and complete depersonalization of the other. When one side doesn't value the other as valid people your in an environment to eliminate and punish them. There is a real convergence of fanaticism religiously ideologically, and culturally that spells doom for those who don't agree. Evil flourishes when people disbelieve that evil is at work. The Republican party today has complete sociopaths hiding in gray suits and in positions on the supreme court, federal circuits, and in State Houses, as well as Congress ready to spring.

You are describing what is starting to happen in FL, Texas, and some of those mid area states.

There are state legislators out there who think it's OK that pregnant women who are in medical trouble travel out of state to look for help.

Louisiana lawmakers passed a bill Tuesday that could make the state the first to require the Ten Commandments to be displayed in all schools and colleges that receive public funding? Not signed yet and WTF

There are dipshits in our country that are in positions of power that think these are good ideas for the better of us as a commumity?

That's insane.

Yep and they are growing in influence. I have a cousin who hasn't spoken to me since Trump was elected cause I disliked Trump. Years ago people like my cousin would joke and playfully debate with differences. But today people like him have a complete bat shit crazy ecosystem on the radio, YouTube, X cable tv where they don't have to hear contrary opinions. What was once crazy talk in a group conversation with a diverse group is reasonable in a echo chamber. But these folks rule now many States and make no mistake they hate people like me who just want everyone to have health care and have the freedom to be gay, or have contraception and an abortion if they need to. They see me as evil. When one side views an other as evil bad things happen. Evil things happen

I have no faith in any consequences for Trump with these trials pre election. I do believe/hope that the youth vote could possibly keep him out of office though. I don't believe the polling numbers are really accounting for that.

This trial is stupid. If the wanted to go after him go after him for how he manipulated the value of his properties to avoid taxes and overcharge his tenants and buyers.

They did, did they not? Isn't that why he owed like $450million after being found guilty?

He hasn't been there since 1999. He's definitely a Cassandra type, the next disaster is just around the corner according to him but he has a lot of good economic insights- ie Caterpillar orders as a measure of industrial capacity, total working hours as a measure of unemployment. He also hammers home a JQA foreign policy that America doesn't need to search for monsters abroad. The danger of a big military is that presidents will use it.

Think things already turned with his first presidency. That was my fear when he was elected. Trump losing this election will not change that. The MAGA movement has made it acceptable to have many views thought to be reprehensible. It has made it okay for politicians to push for divide amongst Americans.

Suggested to another fellow Anti Trumper that the best thing may be that Trump wins the election.
This way, he shows everyone, including his base, that he is full of shit. He has arguably made himself one of the biggest martyrs in modern history by making himself a victim. Without the death part. Sometimes it’s best to let the guy claiming he is the best to prove that he is not.

I have been a model US citizen since my birth, I have worked for the Federal Government for 28 years, paid my taxes, voted, and donated to various charities and done volunteer work. Am I to say you have done more to advocate for the US then me or anyone here ? That's a silly take. I know I support democracy and if your minimizing the threat to ours I advise you to look closer. Things are bad here on a level I never imagined it could be. The US has fallen under a cult of personality so obnoxious and contaminated by the worst impulses of a self righteous mob of hypocrites who just try to out do the next mob members right wing nonsense. Yes, Trump had failed in some areas in the past but he has had years to reflect on his failures and has had cadres of his loyalists perfect the schemes they will employ the second time around. Hey, Hitler messed up big im his first go around when he was jailed for leading a failed revolt only to return and get named Chancellor and ready to exact his revenge and plans when he could. Other despots in history have done the same losing and regaining power or influence.

I have said to my coworker Maga guy that if Trump is re elected he will follow the right wing agenda of extremists and burn the Federal Govt to the ground. It might be fun to see MAGA members cry about how Medicare, Medicaid Social Security, Workers Comp being eliminated and then out in the cold. But then I would have to see major progressive victories erased along with voters rights and a woman's right to contraception stripped to enjoy that ??? That would be like pulling my eyes out and cutting off my nose to spite my face

Jury has reached a verdict. So, definitely not a hung jury. It’s either guilty or not guilty

Drum roll please
