Franco, I do give him the benefit of the doubt. And I did comp him to Draymond so in Oak fashion your making an argument where I have none.
My stance is not of propaganda or fondness of the past.
IN a sense, OG is the evolution of Oak. Built like a brick shit house but I guess longer wingspan, and a very good 3pt shot.
Josh Hart has the heart of "Oak" but brings coast to coast penetration and longer range streaky shooting.
Dray is the point forward at times and passing keeps the ball moving.
Oak in todays game would have to have added one of these elements. He did not have the foot speed, reach, handle, or passing b
ut it was not needed. Young ewing be player today but have a shorter career? Thing is would he have had the offensive fundamentals if he came out after his freshman year? Likely not. John Thompson really polished him over 4 years and he took the league by storm with his offensive game! Perhaps better sports medicine etc could have have kept his knees a bit better. Not to diss Ewing, but maybe he more like Miles turner if he had the range and had to choose his spots more? Turner can protect the rim. Ewing was a better athlete earlier in his career and could do it all. Thing is, players today don't. They are managed.
We'd have loved Embiid if he was a knick. Your not gonna tell me Oak was not dirty at times are you?? LOL
SO many factors era to era to consider.
Thanks ToddTT for well deserved thread
Julius was the beginning of the renaissance despite his flaws. Some day we may acknowledge that he was right to tell fans shut the f up —- a very NY thing in its own right
We probably beat the pacers if he’s healthy and then take the Celtics to 7 games

I was taken back by fan reaction to his comment and actually he further endeared himself as far as Im concerned.
That he bounced back was cool as hell and NY fans appreciate and loved him for it.
Its not easy to play in NY. He can.

The clarity, Clairvoyance, as if both Nostradamus and Einstein had a child to gift humanity and Zeus himself delivered him upon us!
To whom we speak of? PhilC of course!!!

Ditto. No problem with the infamous thumb.

They lose to the Sixers if he produces like he did in the past
Had the pleasure of saying what's up to Julius on the street in midtown today. He was really nice. Cannot wait for the season to start.
I don’t know how anyone can look at the January game log and say anything bad about this team at all. That’s without Mitch Robinson. Randle had one of his worst games of all time and they still beat the Sixers by 36. Randle has his flaws but man, I really like the team with Brunson, DDV, Anunoby, Randle and Hart.

One can always find a flaw in any player and roster.
Celitics just won a title. Salary situation is wack.
All others are flawed cuz they did not win.
Embiid is dirty. Halliburton smiles too much. Kat is soft, Jimmy is too old, Luka whines. Etc.
Tatum settles for too many jumpers, Jaylen turnovers, KP is Mentally soft, White is ugly, Holiday is over paid. Etc. They are champs.
Randle in playoffs if flawed. The ATL he did not handle the double team well after our back court was decimated by age and lack of talent. We forget that details. Last year, he played on an ankle that needed surgery. This year, "Injury prone" after a bad fall on a contact play.
I don't know why some media stories are hammering about knicks getting a star other than click bait. Every team looks to improve and every team won't disclose what's up and real. I have no idea what Leon will do.
Pull up a seat, grab some popcorn and enjoy the next few weeks of moves in the NBA and the draft. June and July are great months for player movement and rumors.
I hope we run it back but if not, the new guys do better than the others and we get new knicks to root for!

I believe the old school fan base has more flaws than Randle. We’ve been beat up and abused for so long, we all have slight mental issues.
But if moving Randle makes us better, I’m all for it. Eitherway I believe Leon and this FO will make the right move(popular or not).

Trade Randle!!!
^This!
One big problem with the Trade Randle brigade is they always want to sell low. At least now we’re not hearing attach #1’s for John Wall.
Much appreciation for our All Star.

I was a few injuries away from my first tattoo (and I suspect second divorce once I told my wife why I would have had 55 tattoo where it was)
Just a bad feeling that with JR I think we wouldn't have gotten as far last year. After seeing Brunson take over games when we needed a finisher I don't know if JR would have helped us with his iso's where people consistently came from the back side and stripped him. Sure Brunson had a lot of iso's but at least on balance he was successful. I don't think the 2 would be helpful with their style of play.

Did these guys watch the playoffs? We got slaughtered by injuries and lost to a not great pacer team in the second round. We need all the depth we can get it’s an 82 game regular season plus playoffs
