I've always found James Wisemam intriguing.

If Thibs could unlock all that potential.

I agree, though some on this board made me nervous about his mental ability to understand the defensive sets. For instance, I was all about Cam Reddish but he clear lacked mental aptitude to handle the defensive schemes.

Problem solved.

Sounds about right

I would have stayed in NY 100 out of 100 times.

Girlfriend closer to family. Knick fans are the best but if you’re not playing well, they could be assholes. And they like posting pics of girlfriend.
Taking the money was the right move. OKC young and good as well.

The real question for me was if he’s so good why wouldn’t the Knicks give them the same deal?
I didn’t think he was worth it and their decision backs that thinking.

The negative for me is that waiting for his outcome cost us Valenuicus or Drummond.

I'm not positive on this but can the Knicks get Mo Wagner with the estimated 11m being thrown around and then sign Precious and go over the cap? I think Mo would work here and I know he wants to stay in Orl but will Orl give him that offer after declining his 8m offer? Wonder how Randle feels about some center this year? With OG and Mikal and either Hart or DD on the court the defense should be fine.

A year ago Hartenstein was some scrub we signed off the clippers that no one else wanted now he’s irreplaceable

The Knicks have only these options

1) Use the taxpayer MLE to sign someone like Goga Bitadze - this is only 5mm per year. I believe this would require the Knicks to be capped at the second apron - i.e. send more salary to the Nets for Bridges.

2) Use Bird Rights to sign Achiuwa to whatever they want - this is the most likely and simplest option

3) Use the veteran minimum deal to sign a Center - they will need to wait the market out to see who would accept this, but we would end up with a Cody Zeller type.

4) Use a traded player exception to trade for a cheap option that keeps them under the first apron (Isiah Jackson, Duop Reath?)

Mitch creates vertical spacing that Ihart doesn't though.

That literally doesn't matter much though. Otherwise Mitch would be considered good offensively cause he is one of the best at the vertical stuff and it hasn't enhanced his offense.

vertical spacing doesn't matter?

When you run a P&R with a big man rolling, the threat of the lob means opposing bigs have to stay on Mitch, OR someone else has to rotate over. IT MATTERS.

Mitch scores the same as Ihart, except Mitch shoots 70% for his career.

Neither are really good offensive players but to say vertical spacing doesn't matter is a reach.

Ihart had a nice passing game though, but I think with Mikal and Randle we'll be more than fine there.

really interested in who we pick up though.

When did Hartenstein become Arvydas Sabonis? The guy had one move in the paint. Yes he’s a better passer than Mitch but we have arguably the league’s best point guard and now he’s got 3 other players he has chemistry with like crazy plus guys like Randle and Deuce who can create their own shot

They need to get hard capped at the second apron first. As for Randle, it depends on what Thibs thinks about it. Thibs likes rim protection.

Reminds me of when Omer Asik got a $60 million deal. Hart is a better player but literally anyone can get a payday now all they need is a good playoff series

stillafan @ 7/1/2024 5:52 PM
ouch, not getting much with 5.168m these days, Knicks can't let Precious go elsewhere, vet min guys? Zeller, McGee, go for Muscala and stretch the floor? Hope Randle is ok with some minutes at C
