While he's frustrating at times, I'm very happy with the extension with future extensions to come.

And just like the Cam Payne signing, this fits nicely under the second apron without any penalty
toodarkmark @ 7/24/2024 2:14 PM
He's their best coach of the last two decades, and deserves even more time.

Realistically? This is probably the last extension.

VDesai @ 7/24/2024 2:47 PM
Thibs will die on the sidelines, won't be his last extension

Been a while since “fire Thibs” was a daily thing…hopefully a long way off too. Or first 4 game losing streak?

F*** off with that anonymous players survey. You can see on the regular how much the team loves playing for him, and 100% this was brought up at the Brunson extension. Wonder what Obi and Jacob talk about.

We've suffered through so much awful leadership. Thank goodness.

Knicks culture is infrastructure and bring in the right type of players.
Thibs has not always had "his guys".
This players love him. The ones that play for him. If not, Im Sure they don't. Long list of guys not cutting the mustard. Not many cut it elsewhere either.

When we hired him I read he has really kept modern and worked to evolve to the modern game. He has proven that very well.

Good for him, good for the organization, and hope we all get to celebrate even further!

Well deserved and as per usual it's a team friendly structure in terms of years. Not that it really matters with a coach, but 3 years was the right number for Thibs at his age. Win-win.

Last season Mitch started off like an All NBA team level defender. Only played 31 games.

Randle started slow but by Jan exploded. Only played half the games for the season.

Starting SF and SG were traded before mid season, more than half season with new SG, SF. SF plays 1 month (~15 games) and then promptly sits 2 months (~20 games).

That's 4 players from the starting lineup that were out "significantly" or swapped out.

50 wins and #2 seed. Pretty pretty pretty good.

NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR Coach of year consideration though.

Thibs is proving himself at near elite. Need a chip for that.
Im assuming he is getting paid as such. Did not read any numbers.
Crazy how stability is paying dividends.
The "Fire Thibs chant" in context of the moment was the team was not excelling. Naturally firing the coach ALWAYS brings better results.
ALways........ LOL.
WE did it how many times?
and Lets be honest, we often think the "Riley Era" was the "90's"! He coached just 4 years in NY.
Thibs was knick assistant for 7 years. He now about to enter his 11 season as a knick coach or assistant!

I heard Thibs made Dolan run "suicides" after signing the extension.

This team is all about family. The bond developed between Rick and Thibs, with young Jalen on the sidelines.

The CAA family—Leon, Wes, Sam, Brunson, and Thibs. The Villanova family.

It’s why Jalen took less, why Mikal will follow, and why a championship will come.

Thibs is their guy; he earned it. The man may mismanage minutes, but no one works harder, is more prepared, or is more suited for the team that Leon built.

He’s going to really enjoy himself this season.

We deserved.
