Lost iHart, Mitch Beast still incubating, and Randle looking lost in Minny.
It's gonna take a minute.

Jalen was being Jalen. Rest of the starters looked out of sorts. Contrast to Celtics who kept 4 guys behind the 3 pt line. If you come out, they start cutting to the basket. They shot 47% form the 3. I'd assume that first period it was greater. Sure it sucked, but as a basketball fan it was impressive. Knicks seemed to panic from there. Deuce!!!! That was awesome! Love the player and if he is a trade chip well that serves a purpose if need be. Hate to trade home grown but its part of the business. NBA teams that shoot 47% for the whole game are going to about beat anyone. That team is a 3pt machine last year, and again last night. Wife said "you sticking with this?" Nope, we put on the Penguin on Max mid 3rd period. Some deficits are too big. Why do fans "We Gone" even after one game? We been thru bad seasons. Granted, if we suck I don't watch every game. Not going to sit thru all games. But im not tuning out. Winning chips is a journey you don't when or where it happens. Its been a long time, but im far from being gone!!!
For those who make the proclamations, there is always room on the bandwagon when your ready!!!

Defensively, its definitely going to take a minute for them for them to learn Thibs system, how to communicate, etc...Not implying this is what you are saying, but Mitch wouldn't have helped much in this game. Mitch's strengths on the defensive end is drop-coverage. We wouldn't have helped much, defensively.
But you are right, its gonna take some time...

Minny lost to Lakers and endured the Lebron side show with Bronny! DDV stats were not great. What to do?

Not gonna lie. I realize last night was an aberration. That said, I don't think this team is closer to a title than it was pre-trade. They're still one move away and they all put of moves for the next few years.

I think we need more firepower off the bench. Mitch's lack of availabilty is the only reason Id want the FO to trade him in a deal for that player. Would even throw in Deuce for the right player.
Might sound crazy the way Deuce is playing now, but Mitch and Deuce could net us a gamechanger. Which player the Knicks should consider, is something I'd have to think about. Would have to be worth it.

There is not better player we can get back on the salaries of McBride and Robinson. Not unless you can go back in time to before salaries started to inflate.
Our best hope is to keep McBride- move him into the starting line up- and wait for Robinson.

Not so sure about that. Might be a player on a rookie deal.

I think we are in a 1 step back, 2 steps forward kind of plan and only see the 1 step back part of it. Against one of the best teams in the league, certainly best last year.
Knicks are no longer a smash mouth team with all of the defense. They are missing all of the bigs right now that provide those services.
Knicks are literally missing one of the best offensive rebounders and defenders in the league, in one of the more important positions on their team for their schemes. He is injured a lot but he is also a key part of what they got going on.

Can someone remind me why we dumped 5 or 6 1st round pick for Mikal Bridges ? These picks would have been useful to find iHart's replacement in the middle.
I'm so mad we only got to enjoy one month of greatness last January. It feels a bit like the Linsanity 8-game stretch... like the mirage of a great Knicks team. Gosh I hated our new acquisitions' play last night.
We lost our team, I am surprised you are not all mad about this. Leon pushed the SELF DESTRUCTION button, he panicked.

Since Trump is admiring German generals, these days, all I'll say is that the United States didn't curl up into a fetal position after the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor...The nation got up and geared up for the future.
This team has a number of proud players who will make the right adjustments, though we really could use a professional rebounder, at this point.
My big take? I think it's important for Brunson to get the rest of the team involved in the game early on, even if their shooting is off. We also need to utilize Towns as a passer in the post. He has an interior game, and is a solid passer. Why not use these skills?
SergioNYK@ 10/23/2024 9:22 PM
Why are you acting like we never lost these same type of games with Randle and DVo?

Looks more like you are the one pushing the "self destruct button".....give it some time. That team we lost to last night won the chip last year and are returning the entire team. Tatem and Brown have been playing together for 7 years....The Celts chemistry is on another level from ours...

KAT would have to buy me a Switch to get me to watch Friday’s game.
This off-season was worse than Kemba and EF.
For anyone who’s going to say that I need to give it more than one game… I didn’t even watch two quarters.
