But you want Josh out there and just because you're adding a rim protector doesn't mean Josh should be the one coming off, though he will lose some minutes. Josh does an incredible amount for the team that no one else really offers on the roster.

I think there are matchups where you want/need the rim protection and there are matchups where its less important. And then there's the question of how many minutes per game is it required. Quite honestly at times I'd like to rest OG and put a true 4 out there (and occasionally Precious' defensive versatility has been useful). I'd also say that when Mitch comes back there will be matchups you want him out there instead of KAT - and those will be way more frequent than having him play with KAT.

But I don't think there's any circumstance where Josh isn't starting or playing close to 35 minutes.

Good points. In nowhere did I say Hart would be playing under 35.
He was first off bench last year and played how many minutes per game last year?
Do agree it’s situational. However, still feel Josh pays more dividends helping out the weak bench.
We shall see. Some may remember this when we are struggling against bigger lineups, elite teams with height and our bench is practically invisible.

I used to be in this boat, but now feel like Hart helps maximize the starters in a way that is completely dominant and unique to his skillet. Rebounds, hustle plays, loose balls, passing and facilitating, whatever it takes.

The bench is weak cause the guys have been hurt and just need to round out into form. The sub patterns will have one of KAT, Brunson on the floor most of the time, and then you throw in the normal mix of others carousel-ling in and out, it really doesn't matter if Josh comes off bench or not?

I'm here except it is really hard for me to silence the "but, undersized" argument in my head. It doesn't seem to matter though. He is doing fantastic and playing outside his size. I have been wrong in my desire for a larger PF.

Knicks are definitely a bit undersized but then their bench - when and if Mitch gets back - makes up for that with both Mitch and Precious?

And Hart keeps piling up the triple doubles like it's nothing.

Harts playmaking and judicious outside shooting is very different than last year.
He starting the offense more gives Brunson some relief and makes it harder for defense to set up the double team.
OG looks tired a lot. Looks like he is cooked but then he lights up and makes a burst.
The ball movement with our starters are hitting another level. Just a joy to see this.
Jah is coming back to earth and still has to round out his game if he wants longevity. He is a freak but its a brutal league for little guys and the arrogance has been tempered by having to learn its not about jumping over people, its about landing!

Not good. We are running out of things to complain about around here.

Not sure if this coincides with Precious’s return?
But think he is a big part of it and quickly getting to IHart level on impact.

I think the vision is coming into play because the fans here mostly.
Thibs is listening to us!! LOL......Thus, "WE" are A knick!
Truth? Installing three new starters is not as simple as taking their career avg's and plugging it in.
Takes time.
Josh is playing the 2. Thats new. Not that he had to reinvent himself but there was a peek into his play when he said "he was lost".
That he adapted so fast is impressive. OG had to get used to playing with KAT and Mikal. Its pretty now.
KAT and Mikal had a whole new team to adapt to. Sure they played in college but that was moons ago and they are all different players now.
That we have been relatively injury free has been awesome.
The bench has sucked. Knicks new this but played thru. They have to execute to get the minutes.
Deuce has been hampered and is just staring to play freely. Precious needed 20 games to get to where he was last year.
Shamet? Same but he has to play Thibian Defense. I think he still has another level to reach. Not sure what his shooting woes were last year but the dude can get close to DDV levels. he won't start and won't have memorable nights like DDV did last year. IM not talking peak DDV.
League is a funny place. Malachi Flynn drops 50 last season vs the Hawks playing for the Pistons. Now he in the Gleague.
