Definitely entertained last night, for the first half cause no way I could stay awake.
December could be last year's Jan

That first quarter was silly. In a good way. Knicks came down the court and kept taking turns shooting from the right side hitting threes. It was like a magical spot on court and they kept going to it. If that is not entertaining? Maybe this is??
Im sure there will be a game when knicks get their hearts broken. It was part of last year also. Some years are better than others. This one might actually better? Won't know till its over.

I always liked KAT's game early in his career. I kind of soured on him the last few years as he seemed to regress/plateau/do something stupid in an important spot anytime I saw him.
Of course after these 15 games, he looks like the most unstoppable offensive player in the NBA. He can dominate small guys low, or shoot over them for 3. Against bigger/slower guys he can relentlessly drive on them to the basket, or if they give him room he steps back and hits 3s. It made me start to wonder, but who can you really put on this guy to guard him effectively? Is there an NBA player that matches up well against him?

The 2023-24 Knicks could beat any team on any given night overcoming massive amounts injuries (including Mitch). There was no team they could not beat.
This year's team seems to have a firm ceiling in place. Can feast on non elite, even 2nd tier teams. But we now expect them to get blown out, humiliated, every time they play one of the top 3.
Last year's team, had the injuries not piled up so high in the playoffs, and even once they did, in our hearts we thought they had a chance to go all they way. This year they playoffs haven't started, but we know they'll get eliminated in the second round.
The magical chemistry is not there. Not the same heart. Not the same fire. We might have picked up better stats, probably a better record, but lost the soul.

Losing Hartenstein was inevitable. Leon gets a pass because not many thought iHart would elevate his game as much as he did.
Trading away our toughness, chemistry, and assets was a swing and a miss.
Our only hope of doing something special this year is being less injured than other teams when the playoffs arrive.
F*** Jaime, the CBA, and OKC!

We’ve become mediocre. And that isn’t changing any year soon.

We been mediocre the whole time. We just started the season with one of the easiest sched. We got lucky that we were not yet burned out by Thibs when we played those bad teams since it was near the start of the season.
ramtour420@ 3/21/2025 5:32 AM
I would be entertained if Thibs benched players for not running out to challenge a 3 point shot.

It was obvious before the easy stretch in the schedule.
Let me clarify. We became mediocre in the off-season.
Fire Leon.

I would be entertained if we:
1. Bench Cam Payne for Kolek 2. Played more twin tower lineups 3. Had more offensive plays in half court 4. Had more players that can dribble, pass and shoot 5. Moved Hart to the bench 6. No more than 2 non shooters on the floor at the same time.

I'll add: 7. Have ANY plays that start with Brunson+big PnR and continue with giving the ball to the rolling big. (KAT?) We have done this exactly 0 times the whole season. 8. Give the bench more playing time. I don't care if we get down during those times or even blow a lead.

Ask me after the season. Let's not forget how we lost a game 7 at home to the Hicks! And Hartenstein was awful in that series and got badly outplayed by Turner. I first have to see his this current group handles a playoff series before I can say last years teams was better.

Dude, who was healthy by that game 7. They were all banged up.
Panos@ 3/24/2025 8:17 PM
So the Knicks stand at 44-26. They need to go 7-5 to beat last year's mark of 50 wins. Somehow, yes, I was still more entertained last year. Even if they beat last year's mark (which is not a lock - still need to play Bucks, Detroit, C's, and Cavs twice). This team needs more fire. If they don't, watch out. There's going to be venom.

This is an organizational decision not a talent one. You ruin teams and departments and whole companies with decisions like that.
But fans can dream
martin@ 3/25/2025 9:47 AM
So far, last year's team was more entertaining but this version has a much higher ceiling and will eventually get there.
