Knicks · Anyone watching OKC and Caruso? (page 1)

OKC is doing very well but I haven't watched. Looking at stats, Caruso is sucking on O.

20MPG, shooting 19% from downtown, and his FG% is sitting at a ripe 29% overall. Averaging 4ppg

Is he hurt or something? Still adjusting?

Dude will be 31 soon and OKC has some decisions to make on salaries.

Sometimes you trade for Josh Hart, sometimes you get Alex Caruso.

sometimes it a good laugh, other times one gets outright "Giddy"....

Stat wise Caruso might have had that peak year last season where he started 57 games for the Bulls playing a career high 71 games.
He has started 130 of 375 games. His minutes peaked at 28 per just twice.
His defense is his trademark.

It's not an obvious trade winner as Caruso off the bench would contribute to a current contender where Giddey is still a work in progress who just turned 22 last month. OKC timeline got moved up and Caruso is a better fit given how OKC roster has developed.

OKC trying to do the 5-out thing too and having a wing player that is a lesser shooting Josh Hart is tough.

And he got Mitch like injury track record outside of past 2 years.

never got the Caruso love fest here.

who knows maybe he shows up playing solid D in playoffs for a few key possessions, or maybe it's all been a mirage

FWIW: my opinion is worth very little. When we got Josh i didn't expect much from him. I thought his rebounds were an artifact of playing on a team that otherwise lacked rebounders.

NOW, now when i see him hitting 3s im saying if he can do this consistently he's allstar level material (not that he will get that before Mikal and OG)

I'm on a fucked up trade hunt.

Chris Paul moved on after 1 year with GSW. So, a 1 year rental of CP3 for Jordan Poole, 2027 second rounder, 2030 top20 protected (converts to second rounder). I guess Poole was that toxic.

https://www.nba.com/news/warriors-wizard...

Warriors receive:

Chris Paul

Wizards receive:

Patrick Baldwin Jr.
Jordan Poole
Ryan Rollins
2027 second-round pick
2030 first-round pick (top 20 protected)
Cash considerations

It hurts even more when you see that Giddy is shooting 36% for three. They would've had to trade Giddy anyway due to his upcoming extension, but it still hurts.

OKC have the no.1 rated defense in the league. Thats without Chet and Hartenstein. I think Caruso is having an impact.

Chet played in 10 of 14 and has wild defensive metrics... those numbers are gonna take a hit.

Caruso is wildly overrated imo. Reddit rides his jock also. He's a nice role player. IDK how a guy who shoots so poorly and has so many holes in his game is OKC's "last piece"

They needed Thibs type players so they overpaid for Caruso and IHART.
