Towns is -37 and Hart is -40!!!
franco12 @ 11/23/2024 7:10 PM
Guys had too much time off since the last game, played too much golf maybe. Did not take this game seriously.
HofstraBBall @ 11/23/2024 7:13 PM
Set OG up man!
OG has it going tonight but both JB and KAT playing hero ball
VDesai @ 11/23/2024 7:15 PM
No one has ever missed a 35 foot heave 3 against us
NYStateOfMind @ 11/23/2024 7:17 PM
I think only OG & Cam played well.
Clean @ 11/23/2024 7:26 PM
No excuse to lose to the Jazz. The worst team in the west. However, we was on a 4 game winning streak so we finally figured everything out. That is what I kept hearing at least.
Knixkik @ 11/23/2024 7:29 PM
Can’t take much from this one. Knicks shot terribly and never play well in Utah.
VDesai @ 11/23/2024 7:30 PM
When we were missing 3s, we kept shooting 3s. KAT didnt press matters and kept missing his 3s short. Kessler neutralized him a couple times around the rim and he wouldnt go to the basket.

Bridges also took a ton of bad 3s and missed some bunnies

NYStateOfMind @ 11/23/2024 7:49 PM
No, that is what you keep saying. No one I can recall on these threads has said we figured it out, just lately, their play has improved. Please be objective.

This team is still a long way away. Games like this one are definitely a step back because the defense is still a freaking nightmare and the capacity to adapt is questionable. I’m still worried that this defense is still so bad. I understand that KAT isn’t out there cleaning other’s mistakes like Mitch and IHart used to, but Bridges in particular has been in general such a disappointment for all that we expected.

You have to show up to games like these because when you can’t beat yet the bigger fishes, you still need more wins. Bad game. Right now even the Magic are better than us. Long way to go before we can say we are definitely coming for Boston.

And have to repeat this again: this defense is putrid. The other night Hart was talking about how much they are improving on defense but if there is any progress, it’s just for short and unstable stretches. No, this defense stinks right now and while it’s definitely still early, trends are being set and this defensive deficiency had been our most consistent act so far. I’m honestly shocked Thibs hasn’t figured out yet how to improve it.

Still not fond of Bridges…

The D was good when Sims was in. Unfortunately Sims only played 9 mins but he was +19
GustavBahler @ 11/23/2024 8:26 PM
Not very surprised by this loss. We've had trouble winning games in Utah. Going back before the big trades. They have size on our starters at every position, a wash at Center. They're athletic, they push the tempo, and outworked us.
Clean @ 11/23/2024 8:45 PM

Sounds familiar.

Sounds like a few of our other losses, which means that we keep having the same issues and not adapt or improve upon those issues. Yes, we are shorthanded, but this was a game to actually give Sims and even Huk more playing time. This is one of those games where Thibs shines for all the wrong issues. So many times a team hits us with their length and we can’t find a way to adapt for 48minutes.

And must repeat it again because I’m livid with him: Bridges sucks.

Yeah, when everyone has a career night on you, it’s not them, it’s you. This defense remains a huge issue.

Kolek was in there for some of our best play when we made our initial come back at the end of the first quarter.

And we think Mitch will solve this problem? This is a coaches defensive scheme. Thibs defensive system works best with defensive players. A roster with offensive players who rely on outside shooting, will always have an up and down game.

Agree, I'd like to see Huk get some PT. Sims is playing better, but thats not a good reason to keep Huk glued to the bench.

Might have to do with the 4 game win streak, sticking with what works. Maybe we'll see Huk play now that the streak is over.

SergioNYK @ 11/23/2024 10:50 PM
Tough loss. Give the Jazz credit. They did not play like a 3-12 team. Lauri and Sexton were great.

But I wouldn't freak out over this one. We've been rolling offensively and just hit a wall. We had good shots but guys just didn't knock them down. Brunson and KAT combined for 14/38 shooting and just 3/18 from three. KAT shot an air ball on an open 3 which tells you everything. Cannot win if both of our guys don't have it. It just wasn't our game. It happens. The rest of the team except OG didn't have it either. But kudos for that run in the 3rd and coming back. Shout out to Payne who played his heart out. Cannot get outrebounded 52-40 either.

Nalod @ 11/23/2024 10:52 PM
Its the NBA my dudes, guys get hot and things happen.
Players get cold and bad things happen. When it collides, its done.
UTAH has issues, but tonite they had a good core on the floor.
Panos @ 11/24/2024 8:22 AM
Honestly, I'm not sure why this Utah team is so bad. Kessler + Lauri + Sexron + Collins is a good core. I'd take any of those guys.

Seperately, the tone foe this loss was set right at the beginning. I didn't count but a huge v percentage of the Knicks early shots were 3pt and none of them went in. And when they went into the paint Kessler was a monster, denying everything. For everyone decrying mid range shots, this is where those shots should have been handy. This is where Mikal should have thrived. But he was awful tonight.
