One thing that always happens unless one of them have an of night is everyone eats in this offense. After every game every one of the starters and McBbride has good points.

Loved how easy offense came for Jalen (at least early) -- love that we are continuing to find Mikal/OG for open and some easy buckets.

Kat is frustrating because clearly most skilled guy on court but he gets caught up in all kinds of little distracting stuff -- with 100% focus he'd probably be avg. 35/15 on 60/50/90 shooting . And he still goes for 25 and 13.

Can't stand Moritz Wagner -- always waiting for him to hurt our guys like Embid.

On the Precious.Mitch returns. Noted on a show I listened to earlier - that Knicks have made 2 mid-season BIG time trades past few years (Josh/OG). Keeps me wondering if we are scouring the league for specific talent we want to add to the roster. Still feels like bench needs creation/scoring.

You know what, I like that. When Brunson quietly takes over, that’s gold. And when he is doing more dishing to begin with, with the threat of scoring, that helps out the team so much and gets going.

One thing I am noticing is you can't know a player well enough if they don't play for your team. I have seen KAT play plenty of times but I had no idea I would love having him this much more than Randle. He is not soft. He rebounds extremely well. He might be a better passer than iHart. He is super efficient. If his defensive issues are not as big as I was led to believe. He is not nearly as good on D as iHart but way better than advertised. I would take his D over Randles any day of the week.
Clean @ 12/4/2024 3:08 AM

I really hope Hart retires a Knick.
Clean @ 12/4/2024 3:18 AM

Thibs is kind of genius for this move. Look at the 42 second mark of the video the whole paint is empty and it allows for Brunson to cut with no one to stop him. Thibs having Hart handle the ball more makes the defenders play up on him more when teams usually have their bigs play on Hart so they can play back and clog the paint. This has also done wonders for his ast numbers. Thibs is not known for his adjustments but I really like this one since he really wants to stick with this starting lineup. So he developed a counter to centers playing on Hart.

blkexec @ 12/4/2024 7:15 AM
I love the spacing, but if Mitch was healthy to start the season, I think Thibs would’ve started big Mitch. If so the spacing or paint would not be that open. And Kat would have less room to drive and make those layups. So Mitch injury to me is the key to this open flow offense.

What happens when precious and Mitch is back? I’m not worried about precious. He actually shoots 3s. I’m worried about Mitch and how Thibs injects a non shooter into this high octane offense.

Will Mitch ever start again for the Knicks?

OK, now that I am more awake I took a pic of it. Bro! look how open that paint is!

I think Mitch will be a situational player. You can call him Sitch
HofstraBBall @ 12/4/2024 8:48 AM
Great win!

KAT and JB starting to look seamless on PnR.
Even my favorite Knick, Mikal, starting to out it together.
Still think we need to set more plays for OG since he is having a great year and not exactly the kind of player that “gets his own”

Huge difference having Deuce and Payne scoring off the bench. Night and day from what we experienced a few weeks back. Can’t wait for Precious and MR to return.
Shamet?

McBride should play like a 6th starter. He can push 30 min so we can try to get OG/Mikal mins down.

He is a terrific shooter.

Hart has maybe been out most consistent player. 14/9/6 on near 60 pct shooting. Maybe he should be an all star.

emotions surely got to me and loved what Jules did for us and what DD brought but yeah man... KAT is special. Wild how also the core of our team are straight up Thibs truthers

I'm in this group. He can be spazzy. That negative on the scouting report was true, but I only got that from the Sota fans who were utterly lamenting his loss. He is sooooo NOT soft. He's got some finesse cause he's so skilled but there's nothing soft there. Between clapping back and draining that fall away after getting hit in the face, stopping to look like WTF, then draining that shit and waiting until there was a foul at the other end to complain to the ref.... KAT (like Brunson) is just so high IQ. It's phucking great. He's a NJ guy also, grew up a Knick fan (1 town away from where I am). This is the build around vision. Brunson/Kat P&R is utterly brutal to defend. 20 games in with a new squad and the offense is #1. That's wild
Nalod @ 12/4/2024 9:37 AM
What a great first half!
The Wagners are impressive.
OG was great. Not saying he shut down Wagner, but he did so many little things on defense on switches that created the shut down on Orlando's offense.
I shut off the game in middle of third period. That lead was insurmountable and after a wonderful first half of Reggie fawning on knick goodness there was a redundancy to the broadcast. Knicks were not losing the game. The drama was the spread.

KAT: If you recall in the summer I was a bit obsessed with the "Logicalness" of a KAT/Randle core trade for both teams. Not saying either team has hit stride and we know Minny has issues but I still do believe Randle is a "Logical" fit for them. To be clear it never crossed my mind DDV would be send as well. My logic was wrong about Mitch would go and at least be rerouted if need be. Kats injury history and contract scared me from advocating it. Still might be a thing but what a pleasure this kid is. He is 7/8 Embiid without the stench. Keeping fingers crossed this is a chip making trade!!!

Its weird to read "Will Minny Trade Randle and start Reid?". I assume this is if the team is still struggling. In fan trade world this would be pretty bad for them as they won't get great value for him if his intent is to opt out. This is where Jimmy Butler/Randle trade happens? Butler then extends for two years and Minny has its window? I don't want to see Randle in Miami.

KAT better than advertised or are we biased? We assumed we getting young 21 year old KAT and he was immature/soft. My little logical obsession observation was KAT looked so good vs. Denver last year in the playoffs and that is not how soft players operate. Vs. Dallas? Finch got out coached.

First 25% OF season in and this trade is a bonafide success for knicks. He is "Inhaling" rebounds like a frat boy with a bong and the passing is just a pleasure.

If Cam Payne is not a long to be a knick maybe the next sub for us is Cole Anthony as a free agent signing?

VDesai @ 12/4/2024 9:42 AM
KAT didnt play well next to Gobert and Randle isnt being maximized either. KAT is playing more like his first few years which were coincidentally under Thibs.

KAT now leads the NBA in rebounding. No.1 in the NBA.

And he is doing much better with the fouls.

And his defense is improving.

Thibs is real.

Ive always been a Thibs homer so this makes me warm and fuzzy. Randle, D Rose, Josh, DD, OG, KAT, Precious, IHART... so many guys seem to come here an unlock parts of their game or just put up career numbers.

I think the biggest misconception about Thibs was he wanted guys to play a certain way, and he really seems to encourage guys to be who they are, just be the best versions of that. Josh doing Josh things. Brunson and KAT doing their things... seems like he just wants to you attack, be aggressive and play D. I think it's why these guys love him. Go be you. Be accountable. That's it. Likely why the locker room (and of course Brunson) is so good.

I absolutely love when we turn it over up 30 and Thibs is muttering like how the phuck does this happen.

I honestly think it's already here and they are happy with it.
1) Establish new starting line up (going well being #1 in the league)
2) Get quality help so we can start reducing winter minutes. I think that comes in Precious/Shamat/Mitch

I like how things are panning out. Precious will cut into OG's minutes and that's important. If we can go into the playoffs with healthy OG/KAT backed up by Precious/Mitch I think we are in great shape to compete for a chip.

We are thin at PG. After Brunson/Payne it's McBride (really a SG) and he's got tendinitis in his knee

Tyler needs time
