Detroit goes on a 14-2 run. Physically dominated us
NYStateOfMind @ 12/7/2024 9:36 PM
Missing FTs, bunnies, and open 3s. Too tired to keep up the good D that got them back in the game. A sad most likely loss. Terrible start killed this game.
Clean @ 12/7/2024 9:36 PM
can't be always fighting back from poor starts. Until we figure that out we are not winning anything.
BigDaddyG @ 12/7/2024 9:37 PM
Eh, for some reason these shite efforts are easier for me to take on the weekend. Young athletic teams who have a semblance of Bball IQ are our Achilles heel.
VDesai @ 12/7/2024 9:37 PM
Had a great defensive run for a few mins, but not making enough shots. The Detroit got re energized

Cade was just surgical in his execution. He manipulated the PnR and killed every mismatch.

What you just explained is playoff basketball. Hopefully we figure out how to deal with it after this than trying to figure it out in the playoffs.

GAME OVER!!!
BigDaddyG @ 12/7/2024 9:43 PM
57% from the free throw line.
VDesai @ 12/7/2024 9:44 PM
We had it down to 2 and they housed us. Credit to them - young teams usually crumble there
Clean @ 12/7/2024 9:45 PM
That was a throwback Knicks fake comeback.
NYStateOfMind @ 12/7/2024 9:45 PM
No KAT to stretch out a team that rebounds well is a killer, but there are so many other mistakes. So much for beating them gain after 16 gamed in a row.
NYStateOfMind @ 12/7/2024 9:47 PM
With all our missed shots, 24 rebounds is terrible. This team without Mitch doesn't shoot smart with offensive rebounds in mind.

How is that not a tech?
SergioNYK @ 12/7/2024 9:58 PM
Disgusting loss!
VDesai @ 12/7/2024 10:10 PM
No KAT or Payne and the healthy guys missed corner 3s. Other team wad healthy energetic and motivated. There are worse losses
VDesai @ 12/7/2024 10:23 PM
Bridges, OG and McBride 6/22 from 3 with KAT out wont get it done. 27 pct shooting

Crisis mode back on! Yay!

Just kidding, but this team will keep reminding is that they aren’t fully “there” until probable a few more months. There is no real reason to start the game so poorly. We don’t start games with enough urgency even if we aren’t fully healthy, which to me is a lack of focus that we have seen many times already. Sims it’s just not it to play a bigger role and stubborn Thibs got a reality check on that very quickly. Team’s defense is too dependent on their offense, which is not a good recipe since we seem right now too dependent on our style of play with KAT. Some days are better than others, but in general it seems like a Thibs team will always have it rough adapting to changes. To me that’s a lot on a focus problem, but we’ll see.

Sucks to be reminded that you aren’t still “there” while a surprising Cavs team joins the Celtics as the legitimate other contending team in the East. I believe that we’ll get there eventually, but the lack of another starring figure off the bench is becoming a clear problem. Payne has become essential to our play, which really means that we need to go and get someone as we can’t just depend on Payne and Deuce and call it a season.

Growing pains, it’s part of it.

People are now constantly seeing the problem with our defense but they are not yet noticing that its not a lack of focus. This is our defensive scheme and has been for Thibs entire coaching career with us.

Over help to protect the paint even if its a trash player attacking and the help can't actually help stop him because it is too far away on the weakside. Leave the shooters open and scramble to the shooters after the kickout. It all depends on those shooters missing open shots or not killing our now constantly scrambling defense.

Crazy variance. From the best in wins to the worst in losses. How can the difference be so wide. never seen anything like it.

Tough loss but I really liked what I saw from Hukporti last night
