Knicks · Paul Reed to be waived by the Pistons. Can/should we get him? (page 1)

Don’t know any thing about his situation and why he has fallen so low, but we need depth and with our limited situation I imagine only cases like this could be worked around the cap?

Makes $7+m this year, $8m next.

Very strange

Seems like his contract for next season is non guaranteed, so I imagine that he now goes through waivers and only if he isn’t picked up we could maybe sign him to whatever limit we have because the rest would’ve to be covered by the Pistons? Am I wrong?

Don’t know yet if it is financially possible but looks like one of those unexpected situations that would improve our bench instead of dealing from our very limited trade assets.

Knicks would have to cut someone (and obviously not resign Shamet) because of the math to stay under apron.

I’d guess it would be possible.

I think Reed is an afterthought with Precious back and Mitch set to return in a month. Reed is a nice end of the bench big, but I think the Knicks are OK there. I'd like to see get another wing. I know, Ryan hive thinks we're good there. But the Knicks could always get better.

Agree I think perimeter D is our biggest need right now

What don't we know here about him, his performance, and the Waiver?
