Weren't these guys supposed to be wing-defending superstars? Who the fuck are they actually stopping?!

Who;s to blame for this latest blowout? Or maybe reality is we just not that good. From coach to players.
Is Deuce the glue?
This team needs a Donte Divincenzo and an Isiah Hartenstein.
We still get blown out last night with them.
Those guys at least played with pride and fire last year. When things go south Bridges and OG, (the $45m role player) completely disappear.
I've gotten grief for suggesting that maybe part of what we are missing is some attitude that Randle brought to the team. He has his warts, but I wonder if he brought an attitude of fuck the other team, I want to win that is missing from this roster of soft bunnies.

We should trade for every bench guy that does well against us.
Or just start a thread about him.

I agree with you. The 2023/2024 team just did not lay down. They had so many come from behind victories because they had a different attitude. So many dawgs.

Yep. Evident from game 1 when the Celtics embarrassed us.
Beasley, Hardaway Jr, and Kennard all free agents this summer. We could use a guy like that to give the bench a boost. Need high volume shooting.

We didn’t really see that until the second half of the season though. And Randle was out for most of it. I think Hartenstein is who/ what we miss. The guy is just a winner, and he’s tough. It’s translated to okc. But our record is still really good. Just need to find the right final pieces.
This is a very different team with less grit but more savvy. KAT and Mikal are offensive improvements.
We recall the heroics of a team that over achieved.
This team being so top heavy is left our bench lite.
Remember it was iHart that came off the bench. Mitch started.
It was DDV that came off the bench and then improved the starting lineup.
And in time Deuce got loose and was Dyno-mite! We have yet to see that version of him.
And Josh came off the bench.

Last year before the OG trade the Knicks had Quickley, McBride, Donte and Hartenstein all coming off the bench. Just loaded. We now have the complete opposite problem and it will just take some time to get some bench talent back.

I think the big difference is Mitch being back there protecting the rim allowed OG to be much more aggressive. I think OG is gassed as he now has to compensate for KAT who is slower defensively with rotations and rim protecting. Bridges I am a little disappointed with how little physicality he playes with...

Did OG and Mitch even really play together? Seems like OG/ Hartenstein combo was the recipe to an elite defense. With Hartenstein gone, it might be time to really lean into having a great offense and just hope OG, mikal etc make the defensive stops when it matters. For what it’s worth, it can’t be done over an 82 game season. It’s more about the playoffs. Having a top 2 offense and a defense in the 10-15 range is manageable.

Somewhat but you can apply the same to IHart as they both rotated and rim protected much better vs KAT
