They GAVE up assets for Bradley Beal aka Eddy Curry small and light
I don't know what kind of threats you need to make to him for the waive of that no trade clause but I guess it starts by coming off the bench.
I mean really, the teams fortunes lie squarely on Grayson Allens shoulders!
Isiah the the true Lord of the Starphuch!
Few have done so little with so much cap! That he could slither into the mind of another owner is amazing.
He is the Rasputin of the NBA.
He is intellectually corrupt manner to take lemons and turn them into chicken shit is worthy of an ESPN 30 for 30 documentary!
Im thinking there is a deal with OKC that can return one of their good young players AND a First round pick or two for Durant.
Its a good story if he can return and win a chip in OKC. Would give some redemption to the way he left.
As for Beal, he makes 50mm this year, then 53mm and then 57mm.
Im not gonna talk too much shit until we get thru KAT's contract. At least our guy is playing at a top 5 MVP candidate thus far. Beal can't stay on the court.
One has to remember Eddy Curry was taking Ephedrine to keep his weight down which is why he was offered a buy out to retire. Isiah was correct in assessing his condition. It was baffling as it was public knowledge and even Nalod understood the ephedrine issue. What puzzled me was if the bulls were offering to buy him out, why did we have to give up two 1st round picks with no protections that turned out to be Lamarcus Aldridge and Joakim Noah? WtF??? Wouldn't a second round pick as a courtesy sufficed?
I don't know what PHX does to rectify this mess. But it starts with:
1. GM James jones grabbing Ibisha's cell phone and blocking Isiahs calls from coming in.
2. Call OKC, Warriors and the Rockets about Durant. Create a market for him. Warriors are cap locked a bit more than the others.
3. Nets should make a call about Booker. A true star. Suns should listen.
4. Gonna have to eat shit and tread water on Beal. I don't know if the 7 year stretch is still available or its viable given the number is huge.
At some point they have have some capital to forward with Beal to take his deal. I believe any buy out would still be on their cap! They have a big problem!
Can they declare him at some point a medical exemption and shelve him legitimately?
Nets at least came within a toe of making finals (Vs Milwaukee)with its starphuch.
wow i had no idea PHO gave WSH 3 swaps. PHO had such a great thing going, star chasing just doesn't work anymore. Even as stacked and healthy as our top 6/7 is we still need more depth.
MIN also fumbled big time with that Rudy trade which led to moving KAT.

Minny could have built the same thing as the Knicks. Instead of targeting guys like OG and whatnot, they burned themselves TWICE with acquiring Gobert and then trading KAT

And they doubled down on Rudy and extended him into his mid 30's and then traded KAT.
SHould have cut their losses and let him expire or trade him for whatever or dared him to test FAgency. and kept KAT. No one was going to pay a mid 30's Rudy a max deal.
CHI is another team I thought fumbled big time trade Wendall carter JR and two firsts for Vucevic. On top of giving away Laurie.
Butler wants to go to the Suns, geezus

Trade for Beal, take his ass up to St Augustine to the "Fountain of Yoot", and he'll have them to the finals.
Kevin Durant the walking virus

He and KD will look great playing 15 games per season together

We starchased too last offseason the difference is we went after stars in their prime
How many franchises have Durant and Harden burned at this point? Surprised teams are still willing to give assets for them.

wonder if Durant thinks we are cool now.

I think Durant wanted out of BKN given his age and that Kyrie had really lost it for a while. Harden Could not stay healthy.
Nets got decent return for him. I don't think he burned them.
He did not burn the OKC as they could have traded him sooner. He sought his freedom and took the risks associated with it. He was a gift to the warriors so I don't think he burned them either. He won two titles with them and for what ever reasons he deemed important he left. BKN signed him with a torn Achilles and sat out the year. All up front. He played well for them nearly carrying them to the finals.
Harden and Kyrie burned a lot more bridges then Durant.
I know we all want to hate him but he took the risks and in the age of player empowerment used his earned privilege. I don't know how this season will go for him the rest of the way but in 25 games he has played his numbers are quite good. He is a savant and while not likable stays true to his craft.
Durant was not at the core of BKN's starphuch issues. Covid, Kyrie and Hardens inconsistency. Durant nearly carried them to finals alone. He played his ass off and came within a toe of doing so. That was the year Milwaukee was in finals and Warriors broke down. If that happend, BKN might have won the chip that year.
I don't particularly like Durant but have to respect his game and career. Lets be honest, if he signed with knicks we might think of him differently. Saying "BKN is COOL" was good theatre but he was trying to put his mark on a franchise that had yet to really make a name for itself. knicks at that juncture to sign him and sit him for a year, then have Kyrie pull that meltdown during covid would have been a disaster.
Im happy with how things turned out with Leon.
As for the suns? The Beal Deal was the true idiotic starphuch. They paid too much and that contract is a beast.

Add in Paul George too?
Not really. Indy got Olidipo and Sabonis from OKC. Granted, Olidipo was really good but his injury was catastrophic.
But they got Sabonis, who was the 11th pick and proved to be an Allstar for a few years, then:Indiana receives:
Tyrese Haliburton
Buddy Hield
Tristan Thompson
Sacramento receives:
Domantas Sabonis
Justin Holiday
Jeremy Lamb
2023 second-round pick
Buddy played 158 games over three years, shot 40% from the three, and almost 16ppg. Indy did OK for a player on his contract year. Sabonis overplaying his draft position saved their ass.
Paul Burned the clippers who paid OKC big time to get Leonard to sign. Thats on them. Blame Philly for wooing him with that insane contract. $211mm!!!!
Clippers set themselves up for that burn by giving OKC Shai and other treasure for PG13.
Martin, Am IM missing something?

He probably does. Context PhilC
YOu reveling in the cool in hindsight? Like you cool now?
But Im gonna ruin it for you.
Kevin Durant signed with brooklyn in the summer of 2019.
So when he in a cast on his ankle looking at his options and the knicks had just finished 17-65.
You can be all kinds of bing bong head up your ass fan, but that fucking sucks. It was not cool.
We had the third pick, which was RJ Barret.
Who was running the team? Steve Mills. A smart guy, but not Cool.
Our Coach? David Fizzdale to enter his second season. His cool has worn off by then.
Say we get Kyrie, does he improve by how much which was a 21 win season? Im sure he'd help, but I doubt he gets us to the play in?
Nets were not cool at the time, but he aimed to make it. they had cap space, picks, and yoot to remake the team.
They had Cool Tools. We had cap space, but little else.
Nets were an blank canvass that he could have become defined.
Season after was Thibs first. He could not have seen that coming. Neither did we. We fired Fizdale and thought Mike Miller was better.
It was pretty bad. But it got his Leon, WWW and Thibs.
If there was something to be learned from Isiah's time as Knicks team president. Most would say that he has a good eye for talent, but cant build a contender. If they had given Thomas a job in the scouting dept, ignored everything else he talked about, things might be different.
