We have a great rate on challenges, but to leave on in your pocket and not use it here in the final minute of the game was super strange. This was a high leverage play and even if you only thought we had a 25% chance of overturning it, that could have won you the game in regulation. Honestly during a full review you might even say Maxey traveled on that.

You would also lose a TO in a situation where you know you may need it in a matter of seconds later if not overturned. Hard to tell on those bench instant replays?

We had 2 timeouts though and the lead. To me it was worth it. OG reacted immediately and said he didn't touch Maxey. From what I've seen, especially against us this year, we're way more conservative on using challenges than other coaches.

Worth watching

The upside of not making the challenge and playing the OT was that we played a near perfect first 4 mins of overtime, on both sides of the ball. Using Precious switchability on defense was maximised.

I couldn't tell if Precious was out-muscled against Detroit in his minutes or just had an off game. Good to see him pick it up though. He should be playing a lot more.

They seem to have been using him in drop instead of switching. He doesn't impact the D much sitting back, but he does with his movement skills. He can stay in front of quick ball handlers / has great recovery and anticipation. He also needs to be more aggressive on that side of the ball.
