The thing is, most of those guys aren't scrubs. Pippen, Wells, Edey, GG and Kennard have all had big games against other NBA squads. Their bench is legit.
I agree - they aren’t scrubs but they were all I could come up with at the time.

May have wet myself on 2 of Precious dunks tonight.

I never had anything against RJ - good kid / solid player BUT for whatever reason he never captivated me like MY PRECIOUS.
Love that moment when you realize Precious is going to throw down.

We are clearly best when Jalen/Kat just one of the guys playing solid games.
Come playoffs teams will look to lure Jalen into going for 40. He can do it but then everyone else standing / watching.
Love the simple unselfish plays we are making.

What place would we need to be in to potentially avoid Boston until East finals?
If we get 2nd and they were in 4th would that do it?

The best part of that dunk is the bench reaction. OG falling on the floor and team trying to get him up.

Keep saying it will be the key for Brunson to get everyone going and not it be a one man show.
Precious, right now making a run for more minutes both at 5 and 4.
I think what Thibs did early on was play the starters as much as possible together. I mean why not? they were all healthy. Brunson is literally the only starter here from opening day last year, so why not take the chance to play them all together and develop chemistry while you can? Especially with guys like Precious and Shamet out.
Now we are seeing him dial back the minutes, with Shamet and Precious back, and Mitch in the pipeline. But our starters have great chemistry now.
Almost like Thibs knows what he's doing and doesn't care what people say, but people really do need to stop doubting him. I already saw posts about how Thibs wasn't the best coach for this team... the best coach we've had in decades, appreciate it.
I also think us looking tired at times had much more to do with the fact that we had played the most games and more importantly the most ROAD games. I think that was much more of a factor than guys playing an extra 1-2mpg... but now the schedule is balancing out more as well and we are getting more rest and more home games.
Definitely was the statement win game of the season so far! Grizzlies came in on a 6 game win streak and with the 5th best record in the entire league and we just beat them into submission! Forced 26 turnovers! Second straight game scoring 143 points too!
Impossible to give a player of the game for this one cause everyone had a hand in this win. I guess I'll start with Bridges cause he was just outstanding! Not only did he pretty much shutdown Morant but he also dropped 28 points. Great sign to see KAT hit some threes too cause he was like 1-9 since the thumb injury and went 2-4 last night. We need his shooting! Loved those touchdown passes for layup's! Best QB in NYC! Brunson was good and I loved that triple threat stand off against Ja where he hit a 3 in his face! Those fouls in the first half were all bullshit. 6 steals for OG and Hart with his typical Hart hustle plays getting all the loose balls!
Bench had their best game of the season. Precious with that monster dunk and great defense and Deuce with the Knicks dunk of the season off that pass from Kolek! Payne went crazy in the 4th and Shamet had some nice defensive stops too.
Just a great win that I personally needed after that awful football weekend.

Yes I agree - we were on the road a long time and a lot of airplane travel is gonna wear on you. We didn't balance the rotation enough over this period, but at the end of the day what's done is done and people are still healthy. Now Thibs seems to be playing a broader rotation and is gaining more trust in Precious, Deuce, Payne and even Shamet.
I also have been thinking about this a lot, but to some degree I think having the starters out together for so many minutes was by design. We know that it can take more than 1 year for a team to gel- by crashing them together a lot in the first half I think Thibs was trying to work out some of these kinks early. Develop chemistry now so that its 2nd nature by playoff time. Time will tell if here in the 2nd half of the season he pulls back a bit on minutes, but I think as long as we get there healthy, there's going to be a benefit in having these guys play so much time together.

Garbage time minutes of course, but I thought Kolek threw a few dimes last night. The pass to Deuce was pinpoint and beautiful. Truly the confidence of a real NBA PG on that play. I think having that time to dominate the G-League and play floor general has brought him more confidence. I also liked the way he handled the press up the floor on a couple of occasions. I think Cam Payne is the right backup point for this team right now because of the energy and potential for scoring that he brings (which is badly needed in the bench unit), but Kolek in really good shape to be a good backup PG next year.

Sometimes you just deal with the cards in front of you and build from there. It ain't rocket science.
Integrating rookies into any team is very difficult, the learning curve is steep. Same as going from high school to high level D1, only 100 times harder.
