I definitely had that one as a win and this one as a loss in my head

Yes no Sengun, no FVV, we had no OG.

Whatever they came to play. They were running, hustling, blocking shots. Guys were getting hit. We found a way. We haven't dug deep and come up with a win like this much this year. This was big

Not bad

Rockets are amazing on defense and were stifling us and we got 46 in the 4th. Im still trying to figure out how to be honest.

I said it the last time we played. Rockets are ultra aggressive and challenge the refs to call 5 fouls each possession

Thing is it’s working for them. Same can be said for Detroit and to a lesser degree okc and Orlando

It’s like a wild backlash strategy from trying to mimic the warriors. Now teams are channeling pistons of yesteryear

League has to decide what they want. Right now they’re schizophrenic w their officiating.

I got the sense the refs knew the game was getting away from them and they tried to make things up which made it even crazier

I. Glad we didn’t lose by 2 given the blown call on Cam Whitmore when he went up and down/ traveled and he ended up with a bucket instead. I’d be up all night if that happened

Jalen. Fucking. Brunson.

Nico’s first bad move. Of many.

Would Okeke have helped tonight ? Rather the playing Shamet ?

Just stop lying.

Bridges and Hart came up big without OG

Shamet played? 😱

Nalod @ 2/3/2025 11:51 PM
Given their two non super fast starters were out they tried to out run us. Almost.
Funny to read these threads. Its collective bipolar of groaning.
Great win. Towns tries to hang with the little quicksters. Its a good effort.
We got some favorable calls and won the game. Man, that toss ball was clutch. Refs made up for some bad shit.

Worse yet even after the up and down the replay showed his foot landing on the line so it shoild have been a 2.

That was a rough non call on a momentum shifting shot.

Was that the game of the year? That is probably the most hyped I've been all year in that 4th quarter - maybe Christmas game with Mikal vs Wemby was just as good. What an awesome display of NBA basketball. Brunson dueling with a couple stud young bucks that most people have never heard of but have been tearing up the league. Pretty cool scene at MSG last night. I also view Udoka as the new Thibs. I've said the past few years that Houston took a page out of the Knicks book with their rebuild, and rather than just let a bunch of kids run wild and lose a bunch of games they got tough minded vets and a win now coach to pair with their rookies like we did the last few years around guys like RJ, Mitch, Quick, Grimes, Obi before all the trades. That's the best way to rebuild IMO. Houston is a fun team to watch, they play a tough style, I respect it and will be rooting for them. They brought the best out of JB last night. Masterful 4th quarter, classic Jalen. Brought back Philly playoff series vibes.

Gotta get Towns going again - without OG we can't afford him to be bad or mediocre. Gotta find his rhythm again.
VDesai @ 2/4/2025 6:45 AM
I thought Thibs starting Precious and closing with Deuce was smart. The lineup with Deuce is too small for multiple long stretches. Playing it at the end of the game where the opposition is tired helps you get away with less size. Deuce was excellent on D and helps us space. Achiuwa did his job out there, but with KAT not making 3s its a tough lineup offensively. Brooks could guard KAT and Adams could guard Precious.

That was one of the worst officiating crew we have seen this year.

Absolutely clutch!
Especially against a bigger/good defender in Thompson.

It was really bad, but we did get 30(!) FT vs their 15. Fouls just were not being called all night.

The egregious call was the Whitmore 3 in the 3rd that broke our momentum and got them going. I mean clear as day up and down call. I also think the quick trigger on the 5 second call, and then not applying the same late in the game vs. Houston was also rough to take. Really difficult conclusion on the Brunson turnover that was reviewed as well. We took a gamble to review that vs. getting a jump ball, but it looked like a foul on replay.

Last 2 min report is mostly a joke, but we'll get one for this game and see what the interpretation is on review.

The jump ball worked in our favor. Not sure it should have been re-tipped, but Josh jumped early and that might have been part of why Adams was thrown off. Maybe there was something to call, maybe there wasn't. Wound up being the pivotal play in the game.
