Knicks · Knicks trade rumors (page 1)

When the dust settles on Thursday I expect Mitch will still be a Knick and we will sign A veteran FA eventually. It could be TJ Warren or a buy out or waiver pick up.

Also, based on OG's injury history and his not being a fast healer I don't expect him back soon. I am being hopeful he can return by the playoffs.

While the rumors circling are that we need a big, I really think we need another ball handling guard.

FWIW so many of the trades including KAT i did not see coming at all

add in Luka and Fox

so i think FOs are keeping tight lipped

VDesai @ 2/3/2025 2:51 PM
Begley has said multiple times he thinks they will trade Sims, prob for a 2nd rounder. Thats the cost cut they need to bring up Warren or Okeke.

Other than that its anyone's guess. What is OG's status? Do we need a wing? What is Mitch's playing status? We don't have the answer to either of those questions, but that's what is going to dictate another move.

It does feel like it would have been nice to be in the mix for Finney-Smith given the cost of what he traded for and the role he theoretically plays. Anyway that's over with.

A 6'7 or 6'8" defense forward wing with a passable corner 3 would make a big difference, if there's one to be had.

OG I'd guess back after all star game. Does not read as serious.
Trade rumors? Never say never but I'd guess we got most of what we need in Gleague.

Great news everyone… Mitch is pregnant!

This no doubt has got Brock Aller in a lather

Nalod……your post is always interesting. It’s like you ask questions then answer them.

As the expert on Achilles tears and calf strains. OGs injury looked like a calf strain. If so, that’s great news. Would love to see Warren, I think he would shine in this system. But okeke is more intriguing with upside.

They did say foot with OG

Some Mitch clarity

VDesai @ 2/3/2025 3:39 PM
That's great news about Mitch.

On OG, are they doing an MRI? Did they do one? Seems like if its a foot sprain or a ligament in the foot we can't really know his prognosis without an MRI. Questionable is a placeholder.

Not likely ..but I would trade Mitch and Deuce for Reaves.....I rather Mitch and a pick...but that not's getting it done.

I think MRIs are usually done next day. Will the team tells us the results any time soon? I think we all know that answer to that.

I know Reaves is a good player/shooter but don't you have to hide him somewhat defensively? Can't see us moving Mitch and Deuce for a player we would need both Mitch and Deuce to offset his defensive limitations. Maybe there's a 3 team deal that could make sense (eg add Utah with picks going so we land Kessler)?

This seems all too scripted to trade Mitch at the deadline tbh. Extra cautious with him all year, finally gets the green light of pure health a week before the deadline.

Timing is intriguing. Cleared just in time to not have played (and thus not show anyone if he wasn't 100%), but cleared in time to make it reasonable to consider taking a chance on him.

Either way I see a move. If we are banking on using Mitch - we will move Sims to clear space and remove a logjam. Or maybe we move Mitch, who knows.

Clear we need another Wing on the roster and not 4 centers - whether its one of our G League guys or someone from the outside, we'll see.

VDesai @ 2/4/2025 8:23 AM
I also think Torrey Craig should absolutely be looked at. He's doesn't have the height, but is a fair 3 and D player with a lot of experience and playoff experience that has shot 3's at a really nice clip the last couple of seasons and at least average level over his career.
SergioNYK @ 2/4/2025 9:16 AM
I hope we can get someone better than Shamet cause he hasn't been too good or consistent. We need a wing who can spell OG and Bridges and play defense and hit a 3. And I'm not trading Mitch unless we get a Center in return! Especially not trading him to the Lakers and doing them anymore favors! We aren't beating the Cavs without him.

Honestly I think we trade Sims for another bum and call up Warren from Westchester. Playing around the trade checker, it's nearly impossible to pull off a trade when you're at the second apron or maybe I'm not doing it correctly.

Chandler @ 2/4/2025 9:53 AM
not that it will happen but Houston has a lot of wings i like. Eason and Cam are coming off of their bench; would love them off our bench

With Senguin out their center was 6' 4". WOuld they like Mitch?

Knicks have got to be antsy that Shamet has not broken out yet or at least filled his role more thoroughly. Man that injury just SUCKS. I wouldn't be surprised if they moved in a different direction.

Nalod @ 2/4/2025 10:48 AM
Shamet is a career 38% 3pt shooter currently playing 10 min a game shooting 29%.
A lot of those minutes are junk time so the stats are not clear.
I trust Thibs patience levels for the betterment of the team. If he yanks him, so be it.
If not, he looking for something to happen.
