We may not see anything except Sims for a 2nd or a bit piece. But ultimately our deadline might be adding Mitchell Robinson and either Warren or Okeke to the roster and that's probably fair business for us.
To me its been interesting that the Knicks essentially have had 4 fringe wings vying for a couple of spots and have preferred having Shamet/Ryan on the roster for most of the season vs. Warren or Okeke. They were clearly intending to find a sniper, and unfortunately haven't gotten it.

True. And McBride has been a little more off than expected or perhaps he just regressed to the norm a bit

True, Ryan was given an opportunity early on and has basically ridden the pine since.
Was surprised Shamet did not get any time last night.
Deuce is increasing his minutes and leaving little for Landry.

He was wearing a big ice pack on shoulder before game or perhaps after end of previous. Wonder if they don't want to play him back to back

1) Agreeing last point on Shamet. Guessing they are giving him some room to work it out. He kind of won the roster spot by getting injured on the Exhibit 9. It committed cabs to him and found them nickels on his contract. We are counting Pennies.
2) Chuma and Warren don’t qualify for two way contracts. So, they should be somewhere they can play everyday. We can’t afford Warren based on Vet min scaling.
3) Ryan does qualify and does have a two way contracts, but he kind of stunk it up. Not getting much time. I think he is better than he is showing out. It’s gotta be weird floating back and forth and being ready to go even when you know you aren’t playing. But between him and Shamet, that sniper role is open.
Deuce is the sniper. He replaced DDV. Remember DDV had to beat Grimes.
Good read on Shamet back to backs. Did not think of that.
Big picture is this team is exceeding my expectations thus far. Not surprised were we are but where Cleveland is.
This notion of Mitch being the "CavKiller" is a bit overblown. Our team is very different than two years ago and they are also. Mobley is all grown up now. I do like that we can go big with Mitch/Precious at times and give our guys some rest.
Question: is it time to push all the chips in the middle and go for it?
I trust Leon and Brock to fill in any gaps if the opportunity arises but not screw the cap/future if this is not the time.

Didn't they already do that? The only "chips" left are the rookies.

Future picks. Start leveraging the future?
You know the "Hope it works cuz if not we fucked" type of thing.
Nobody specific, im being conceptual.

I don't know if you missed it, but the Nets basically have all the picks they can trade.

I guess I did miss it. Perhaps Windhrost was right that we need to get thru a few deadline/trade/draft cycles before we make substantial bench moves.
Few teams make moves like we did and win the first year.
https://hoopshype.com/lists/nba-intel-lo...Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball has been arguably the best comeback story in the league after returning this season from knee injuries that sidelined him since January 14, 2022.Ball has received trade interest from several teams, including the Memphis Grizzlies, Detroit Pistons, Minnesota Timberwolves, and others, league sources told HoopsHype.
Some teams are also monitoring whether Ball could hit the buyout market.
Ball has looked spry lately, averaging 10.2 points on 40.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc, 3.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 24.7 minutes through his last 11 games while on an expiring contract worth $21.4 million.
Expiring contract. If the price was right I wouldnt mind the FO taking a look at Lonzo. Would give the second unit the playmaker we need.

I would be down with signing Lonzo. Unfortunately, Mitch, Precious or one of the starters would likely have to be part of that of deal and it wouldn't be worth it. .
So long and thanks for all the dunks.

If we can get a 2nd rounder I'd take back my criticism about guaranteeing his contract

A washed up Theis got a second rounder. I've got hope.
If I could only pick one to be on our roster, I would take Sims over Mitch.

Interesting fighting words 🤣
