Roadblock in the East..with the Celts and Cavs in the way. Probably have a better shot v the 1st place Cavs..in a postseason series. Obviously..we need to be at full strength to have an outside shot.

Bridges 3 got us to down 3.

Next possession Kat allows Tatum to waltz in for layup, then fouls him on drive and after that there were another 13 straight points or so.

Precious got seriously exposed tonight. This game is exhibit A, B and C why we need Mitch and OG healthy in the playoffs.

I don’t know about that. Precious is a sub, and he started against the world champs. The whole team was flat.

The Celtics were able to do whatever they wanted in the paint because we had no rim protection or rebounding. There are residual effects on offense that occur when you know have no shot at stopping the other team defensively. I’m not saying we win the game with Mitch and OG but at the very least it would have been competitive

Ever notice in really big games --- this has been for about last 40 years.

Knicks collectively can't catch, handle or shoot the ball --- felt like 25 boards slipped out of our hands.

Kat looked like Spud Webb going up against mighty Kornet and other big stiff they had.

That foul call on Deuce vs White was a complete momentum killer. Still dumbfounded that we didn't challenge.

I think it says more about the importance of OG and Mitch. That’s 2 of our 3 best defensive players. We get them back, I’m guessing the net result is that we will be one of the best offensive and defensive teams in the league. Availability being the big question mark.

It’s a different game because OG is an excellent perimeter defender and Mitch is a top notch rim protector and rebounder. KAT is a PF he is not a defensive Center. Precious looked horrible tonight. I hate to dump on the guy but against any team with size and athleticism he is a liability because he’s undersized and slow.

I think he’s pretty mobile for a traditional big man. No very fast, but mobile. Putting up good numbers.

YES - classic call.

1st Deuce should not be that close and 2nd ref drooling at chance to blow whistle there --- why no challenge?

Yes..competitive..respectable, but not enough to beat this team.

Our bench would have to chip in more than bottom of the league. Don’t believe it would have to be that dramatic an improvement to give us a 50-50 shot. Mitch in the second unit will stop most of those layups.

BigDaddyG @ 2/8/2025 11:08 PM
This is the most embarrassing loss under the Rose regime. Wingstop isn't enough to cover for KAT in the high pick and roll against Boston. Might need to start Mitch and KAT if the ever meet in the playoffs.
ToddTT @ 2/8/2025 11:18 PM
I can’t wait until Mitch gets back. I really enjoy watching him lumber up and down the court, gasp for air, and brick free throws like someone who has never touched a basketball in their entire life.

His free throws look like someone who is intentionally trying to miss near the end of regulation, in hopes of throwing up a desperation shot.

The feeling of dread coupled with knots in my stomach when he is on the floor in the last few minutes is always exciting.

I also enjoy how he is an offensive force… as long as he is zero feet from the rim.

Oooooh I’m gonna go check Instagram and TikTok to see if he has posted any more riveting updates!

One of the best offensive rebounders in the league means lots of second chance opportunities for our anemic bench. One of the best defensive bigs in the league means we are about to become a much better defensive squad. Mitch might end up being the difference between a deep run in the playoffs and another early exit.

KAT was awful. He hasnt been the same since he broke his thumb.

They said to us - Mikal, Josh Precious - go score. They can't

VDesai @ 2/9/2025 12:09 AM
KAT not scoring against Wings is a huge problem

Agreed I’m really surprised we didn’t challenge that call. But man did towns suck tonight, precious sucked as well. We really need to work on firing on all cylinders for 4 quarters not just small spurts, that’s what separates the championships from the playoff exit teams. They bring it for 4 quarters day in and day out . It probably would have been at least a close game if we fire on all cylinders the way we can for 4 quarters not just 5 minutes worth of the 3rd . Did the guys have a late night out on Friday because that’s how we played .

True. Celtics own us thus far this season.
Does not mean we can't bounce. They were missing KP an Holiday. We Mitch and OG.
It was bad. Celtics been struggling and got up for this one.
Tatum was the best player on the court and he did what he wanted. Hit from deep or slice thru the paint. The Previous hype was far wanting. Good bench player but tonite we go out matched.
Nice Career Novak carved out all the years. Good for him.

Shitty night.

Dragon @ 2/9/2025 1:16 AM
Shouldn't that be KATs game? Nobody was supposed to be able to guard him in the paint.... Instead he is playing outside... Zero defense zero offence.... Brunson tried to keep us in the game but team was flat dead... Josh, Kat, Mikail Duce.,.. nobody.... But especially KAT they were scoring against him as if he is 5 feet tall

Think he has worked on his free throws ? He should have been able to.

Extremely disappointing and discouraging loss and overall effort. We had 3 days to rest and prepare for this game and we came out flat and game was pretty much over after the first quarter.

Not much good you can take away from this game except for Brunson, who kept us within striking distance for a bit, and Payne. I thought Hart had one of his worst games as a Knick. He's entitled to a bad game so I'm not going to kill him too much but he wasn't his usual self. His defense especially was really bad. Left his guy open all game long. KAT didn't look good either. Got beat on 3 offensive rebounds by Queta for put backs which cannot happen. We got outrebounded 48-30 as a team! KAT also looked a step too slow. His production has really dipped since that thumb injury which is concerning.

I thought we were going to make it a game after Bridges hit that 3 to cut it down to 3 but then those 2 fouls on 3pt attempts really killed our momentum. I think Thibs should have challenged the one on Deuce cause that didn't look like a foul at all.

Give the Celtics credit. They are defending champs for a reason. They have all the components to do it again. Didn't miss a beat without Holiday and KP either which tells you about their depth. Kornet set the tone early with those blocks and Pritchard should win the 6th Man of the Year. He could also win Most Improved cause he's a a threat to score 20 off the bench every time. And of course Tatum and Brown are unstoppable and we don't have anyone who can guard either guy without OG.

I'm going to try not to overreact too much to this loss cause there is still a lot of basketball left to be played and we will get healthier and deeper with OG and Mitch but as of right now, we just aren't good enough this season to beat teams like Boston and OKC. We're a tier below and it shows. We got a lot of work to do before we reach that level.

Nalod @ 2/9/2025 9:20 AM
WE all know our record with and without OG. His presence is elite regarding outcome.

Boston still has big bodies to throw at KAT and they simply played him well.
He goes to the rim with a reckless abandon. Its inspiring. The efforts are there.
So is the complaining after each shot, and I pray our guy does not get hurt.
