Didnt know that.

He ruptured his Achilles and missed the full 2022-2023 season

Didn’t realize this but Bondi says Huk also tore meniscus before too

As someone who has tore his meniscus in both knees, I can tell you that these type of injuries that don’t just happen in one night. Every athlete has micro tears in their meniscus. After over use or persistent excess use those develop into tears that need to be addressed. I am sure Huk had issues prior. Problem becomes more serious when you have multiple meniscus surgeries over several years since they shave off little pieces each time. Eventually, you are left with very little meniscus and would need knee replacement. I am hoping this is a mild cleanup for Huk. Back normal in 4 to 6 weeks.

We should note that not all meniscus injuries are the same. Jared McCain tore his in mid December and was ruled out for the season I think.

Removal vs repair, I think. And obviously the amount of damage and where injury occurred.

This guy gives an easy to understand analysis of an older Embiid meniscus tear. Long story short, the placement of the tear will determine how quickly iHuk can return.

Because of the timing of the injury and the fact that he's a rookie, I'm not sure if we'll see Huk on the court again this year. Of course if Mitch gets hurt again they may need to get him back out there if he's able to recover before the season ends. If Mitch has rounded into game shape and making big contributions by April, probably no Huk.
